Role
Who you are
- 5+ years in product management, preferably in a fast-paced results driven start-up/scale-up environment
- Proven ability to make customer-centric decisions, a deep understanding of jobs-to-be-done and user experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from different disciplines and communicate with technical & non-technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and experience in working alongside software engineering, machine learning engineers or closely related roles
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex product projects and deliver high-quality results against deadlines
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing talent
- Thrives in a dynamic start-up environment, adapts to changing priorities, and takes initiative to drive innovation and continuous improvement
What the job involves
- Lead product direction and execution for the cross-functional team responsible for scaling internal operations and developing customer touch points
- Shape the product and strategy for scaling human-in-the-loop operations, customer touch points, and work alongside a world-class team
- This is a crucial role which will be responsible for scaling our internal operations and developing customer points. You will be responsible for bringing the product from 1 - 100

Papercup is a machine learning start-up transforming the media industry. According to Papercup, 99.9% of video content is shackled to a single language, meaning that most content can only be enjoyed by a fraction of the potential audience.
Dubbing is a lucrative market - film dubbing services alone could generate $3.6 billion annually by 2027 - but it’s also a laborious and costly process. This is the problem where Papercup is trying to create a step-change with its AI dubbing software, and it has a chance to take this market by storm.
The promise of AI in this domain, specifically natural language processing, is that it speeds up the task by creating human-sounding dubs across multiple languages. Papercup is already being employed by media giants Sky News, Discovery, and Business Insider, and was used to translate 30 seasons of Bob Ross’ iconic show, “The Joy of Painting” as well as Jamie Oliver's YouTube cooking channel.
The company has raised significant funding from the likes of Sky, most of which is being put toward research around expressive AI-generated voices and expanding its support for foreign languages. Papercup currently has a translator network across three continents but expects to increase this over the next year through partnerships with Bloomberg and other high profile clients.
