Role
Who you are
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, as well as relevant frameworks and libraries.
- Familiarity with using WebGL, Three.js or similar technologies to create 3D experiences in the browser.
- Experience in optimizing performance and designing user experiences in 3D environments.
- Excellent communication skills to pick up and inspire relevant stakeholders.
- Familiarity with glTF or other open-source standards.
- Ideally, experience in ecommerce platforms and integrating 3D experiences into such systems.
- A portfolio of relevant work that demonstrates experience in creating immersive 3D experiences.

- At Shopware, we want to bring outstanding shopping experiences into everyone's lives. As a Software Developer 3D JavaScript, you will take this promise quite literally: We innovate the world of ecommerce and push the boundaries of what's possible in everyday shopping
- You will work closely with our design and product teams to develop and implement immersive and realistic 3D shopping experiences.
- Using JavaScript and related technologies (e.g. WebGL, Three.js, etc.), you will create high-quality, performant 3D interfaces and interactions.
- To integrate the 3D experiences into our ecommerce platform, you will work closely with the rest of the development team.
- You act as an ambassador for the possibilities of 3D shopping experiences and transport this knowledge within the organization.
- Based on user feedback and data analysis, you will aim for the continuous improvement and optimization of the 3D shopping experience.
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power the online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth.
