Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a skilled Frontend (UI) Platform Engineer to join our team
- We want someone who understands and obsesses over front-end systems
- Passion for improving developer experience and increasing development velocity
- 4+ years of experience in frontend engineering, specializing in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
- Strong knowledge of UI infrastructure, CI/CD, and testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress)
- Proven ability to drive projects independently, from concept to implementation
Desirable
- Expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and modern front-end systems
- Expertise in performance optimization for frontend applications
- Experience with modern JavaScript bundling tools like Webpack, Vite, and Bazel
- Familiarity with Remix, Qwik, RESTful APIs, and Go
- Experience building and maintaining integration test suites with API mocks
- Experience building and scaling large-scale web applications
What the job involves
- Cloudflare’s Engineering Team builds and runs the software that handles large amounts of requests on the Internet today
- We also build and run the internal tools and platforms that run that software. Individual engineering teams are typically responsible for large areas with considerable impact, and able to execute autonomously within that space to deliver value to their customers - be they internal or external
- You'll be responsible for the core technology that drives the Cloudflare Dashboard
- You'll be pioneering new techniques and tooling to move away from a traditional monolithic application and onto Cloudflare's innovative Web Fragments
- In this role, you will enhance UI infrastructure, streamline development workflows, and collaborate across teams to improve code quality and developer velocity
- Your contributions will be pivotal in refining the developer experience, ensuring high-quality frontend delivery, and optimizing performance and reliability at scale. Our mission is to improve developer productivity and application performance
- Help build, migrate, and scale the UI platform frameworks
- Drive UI infrastructure excellence, including CI/CD, observability, and experimentation tools
- Tackle cross-cutting concerns to enhance developer velocity, maintainability, and code quality
- Upgrade and maintain the frontend codebase, modernizing legacy components to align with current best practices
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver cohesive, self-serviceable user experiences

Cloudflare is a multi-service global network that provides web security and infrastructure, DDoS mitigation services, and a content delivery network. Founded in 2009, Cloudflare has risen to become an industry giant, with over 25 million global internet properties on its network.
Cloudflare has been responsible for a number of admirable initiatives, offering free web protection to human rights groups, journalists, artists, and US election websites. This goes some way to counteracting the flak Cloudflare has received in some circles for the controversial groups and users who use its services. This chequered history, however, has not affected its over 80% market share in the content delivery network field.
This is perhaps in part because it has proven sharp at staying abreast of the rapidly morphing tech and digital space and customer demands. For example, Cloudflare is shifting to 100% renewable energy usage to create a zero-emissions internet, and in 2020 released a feature that would help users navigate data privacy regulations by selecting where their data is stored.
And impressive third-quarter 2025 results show strong momentum, with revenue rising to $562 million from $430 million a year earlier. The company also raised its full-year guidance, underscoring confidence in continued growth. As demand for secure, cloud-based infrastructure keeps growing, Cloudflare's expanding platform and improving efficiency leave it well positioned to capture further gains in a rapidly growing market.
