Who you are

7+ years of industry experience, holding lead/staff/principal level roles in Software or Frontend engineering, with a focus in building secure, performant, enterprise-grade web applications
Experience establishing and realizing technical strategy for large engineering groups
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Extensive Typescript development experience
Extensive knowledge of React and modern frontend frameworks and libraries
Proven track record of establishing engineering best practices for both coding and architecture

What the job involves

We are looking for a Staff Engineer for our Frontend Platforms to own and evolve our application foundation and frontend development best practices
Your goal is ensuring consistency, performance, and maintainability across our various products
This role involves collaborating closely with each product team, understanding their specific needs, and providing guidance and direction in frontend technology decisions and practices
Provide leadership in frontend technologies across multiple product teams, enabling and ensuring a consistent architecture and adherence to established coding standards
Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless, effective, and consistent end user experience
Contribute to architectural decision-making from the point of view of the front end, with insights on modularity, shared code and server communication
Enable rapid product iteration by developing, documenting, and enforcing best practices for frontend development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
Build and maintain EvolutionIQ's frontend application foundation, internal design system, testing and release frameworks, and related entities, including (but not limited to): Component UI library, usage guidelines & documentation, icons, prototyping system, regression testing system, and styling system
Ensure EvolutionIQ products support a broad global audience through internationalization and accessibility features
Collaborate closely with team leads and developers on architectural decisions and design considerations
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers
Stay abreast of the latest frontend technology trends and innovations, evaluating and introducing new tools and technologies

EvolutionIQ is a data-driven claim guidance platform for insurance providers. Its products combine structured and unstructured claim data with external third-party data to provide powerful claim guidance, aiming to modernise the claims operations process.

The company's offering is certainly an attractive one for businesses handling large volumes of these claims - the solutions aim to help insurance providers detect and prevent fraud without impacting their productivity and customer experience. Historically, the insurance industry has had access to vast amounts of data without optimising its use. EvolutionIQ's machine learning algorithms harness the learnings from every data point, enabling much more well-informed, actionable insights.

In 2024, CCC Intelligent Solutions acquired EvolutionIQ, which will continue to operate as a standalone company. Following a successful VC funding round, it reached a valuation of over $200 million and is now focused on further product development and international expansion. Off the back of this, it hopes to capture a larger slice of this $10 billion market.
