Who you are
- Looking for a recent grad or someone with 1-2 years experience who is excited about joining a fast growing startup, diving deep into data, and working across numerous stakeholders to help them leverage insights to improve day to day operations
- The ideal candidate has some experience in data analysis (Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, Python) but more importantly is capable of quickly learning new skills in the field
- Additionally, they should have strong emotional intelligence and ability to empathize and serve stakeholders across the organization
- This could be a great fit at anyone who looking at pursuing a career in manufacturing leadership, business intelligence, or product management / product operations
- Analytical / Data-Driven: can dive into datasets and properly deduce insights / answer questions
- Operationally Minded: must understand the nuances and details of physical world operations and how that reflects back into data analysis
- Quick Learner: eager and thoughtful bout how to dive in, learn info, and start becoming familiar with new subject matter, with an above average retention rate
- Detail Orientated: understands the importance of having accurate data and properly checks their work to make sure deliverables are not messy or contain errors
- High Integrity / Accountable: willing to speak up and own mistakes, making sure they get corrected rather than fester under the surface
- Takes Initiative: does not way for someone to tell them what to do but rather goes and starts on their own
- Located or willing to relocate to Los Angeles, CA
- Can attend in-office 5 days / week at our factory in Torrance, CA
- Bachelors degree; open to all majors
- 1-2 years of full time job experience or 1-2 reputable college internships
- Nice to Have: extracurriculars focused on entrepreneurship, technology, business
- Above average Excel / Google Sheets proficiency
- Bonus points for SQL / Python proficiency
What the job involves
- The main focus of this role will be to support the Factory Operations team in data analysis, data visualization, and building tools and dashboards to actually impact workflow efficiency across the factory
- They will sit directly within the Factory Operations team to ensure that they are close to the subject matter and stakeholders that they will be primarily working with
- Understanding Stakeholder Needs: Collaborating with key individuals across factory ops to understand their data and visualization needs
- Writing SQL Queries: creating SQL commands to retrieve and combine data across Hadrian tech stack
- Building Dashboards & Visualizations: Leveraging data to build materials that help stakeholders across the factory better understand their operations and make decisions
- Performing Ad-Hoc Analysis: Leading or assisting ad-hoc data investigations to help deep dive the system, find insights, and inform decision making
- Building “No Code” Tooling: Developing solutions in tools such as Retool to help factory team become more efficient in day to day decisions until software can formally serve that need
Our take
Hadrian is an industrial automation company that creates autonomous factories for aerospace components. Founded by a former history student, the inspiration for Hadrian was the notion that throughout history, empires begin to fall when they outsource their core industries to lower-cost countries, resulting in internal stagnation and mass unemployment.
To counter this historic trend, founder Chris Power founded Hadrian, which uses machine learning to automate the processes of component factories. Power honed in on key US industries that were lacking in scalable solutions. Aerospace and defence is one area in which the USA relies on boutique experts who lack the manpower to build at scale. This factory automation solution addresses bottlenecks in manufacturing aerospace components that slow down progress due to owner-operated machine shops.
With investment from early Facebook and Airbnb investors Andreessen Horowitz, Hadrian is setting a precedent for a new era of machine work innovation. Hadrian’s main challenge will be convincing smaller manufacturers in the sector to embrace the precision and time-saving benefits of automation. With two factories now operational, Hadrian is using funding to continue its team and product growth, so as to meet the growing demand for component manufacturing.
