Who you are

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to join Expedia’s B2B Communications team within Commercial Operations
Skilled in writing for digital platforms, localization, and self-service environments
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, globally distributed organization
Experienced in managing multiple projects with minimal oversight
A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Able to work independently, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in communications or technical writing

What the job involves

In this role, you’ll own the creation and execution of clear, consistent, and brand-aligned communications that support our global customer experience
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Legal, and Compliance—to deliver high-impact communications across digital platforms
Your work will help ensure our messaging is not only informative and accessible but also reinforces our brand reputation and business goals
A supporting level team member starting to support content strategy for a group and/or line of business
Contributes to content marketing briefs and plans, and supports content marketing project management. Carries out day to day tasks with close supervisory review
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Legal, and Compliance—to ensure all customer-facing is clear, cohesive, aligned with business goals and adheres to brand standards
Create clear, concise, and well-structured communications, including policies, procedures, guidelines, and customer notifications
Write, edit, and publish communications and content for global audiences for distribution across digital platforms, emails, FAQs, and customer announcements
Execute communication projects in alignment with timeline, task prioritization, and stakeholder coordination
Ensure all communications aligns with brand voice, tone, and visual identity, and is optimized for usability and discoverability
Leverage data and customer feedback to evaluate communication effectiveness and continuously improve communication strategy. Familiarity with performance metrics and data-driven decision-making

They enable users to access a wide range of services including airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages, and various attractions and services via the world wide web and telephone travel agents. Its primary web businesses include Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, and Egencia.com.

Between 2021 and 2022, Expedia has been selling and merging a list of its sub-brands in a bid to simplify its operations, including Egencia and Classic Vacations. Due to plummeting share prices, mostly in the case of its sub-brands, Expedia has been leveraging its subsidiaries' customer base and merging them into the company’s core brand. Contrasting this move, Expedia has also been partnering with tech start-ups in a bid to make travel more accessible to underserved groups. Becoming Rentable, a travel company for the disabled is one of 12 startups that are part of Expedia Group’s new Open World Accelerator Programme.

What this indicates is Expedia’s shift from buying other travel companies and a move towards enhancing the experience of its preexisting customer base. This move is aiding in a long-term plan for greater long-term traveler loyalty, utilizing Expedia’s vast amounts of data, not just from reviews, but from check-in, cleanliness, communication, cancelations, etc to inform how guests experience a property.
