Who you are

5+ years of experience working in back-end development
Proficient in Python and PostgreSQL
Experience designing RESTful APIs
Experience with database integration, hosting environment management, and scaling
Familiarity with infrastructure tools, particularly Kubernetes and AWS technologies such as S3, Lambda, and RDS
Proven ability to work within a Git-based workflow (GitHub, Bitbucket) following best practices for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD
Strong interpersonal communication, particularly in working with product managers, front-end engineers, and QA engineers

Desirable

Experience building integrations with Stripe, Mapbox, and HubSpot
Familiarity with Django, Celery, Sentry
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools to manage work with a remote team
Any time spent in a start-up environment

What the job involves

As TXR’s Lead Backend Developer, you will report to the Senior Product Manager. You will develop, maintain, and optimize backend services, databases, and integrations that power our platform
Work with other members of the product team to imagine, define, and create solutions that deliver a high-quality website to people interested in the Texas ranching lifestyle
Develop server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database
Ingest and process data to ensure a clean database for our ranchers
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to connect with third-party services and internal applications
Optimize backend code and database queries for performance, scalability, and reliability
Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and stability
Troubleshoot issues as needed
