Role
Who you are
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program
- Demonstrated coursework or strong interest in estate planning, trusts and estates, and/or tax law
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate findings clearly and concisely
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Prior experience in a legal setting or a technology company is a plus, but not required
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented legal intern to join our growing legal team part-time
- This is an excellent opportunity for a law student with a keen interest in estate planning, tax law, and the intersection of law and technology
- The intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal tech environment, contributing to the development and maintenance of our legal content and product features
- Assist with legal research on various aspects of estate planning, probate, trust administration, and federal and state tax laws (income, gift, estate, GST)
- Review and analyze legal documents, statutes, regulations, and case law across all U.S. jurisdictions
- Support the legal team in drafting and updating legal content, including internal legal memoranda, templates, and marketing materials
- Contribute to the legal accuracy and compliance of our estate planning software solutions
- Assist with special projects related to AI, product development, and legal compliance
- Participate in team meetings and discussions, offering insights and contributing to problem-solving
