Who you are
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience working with private on-premise datacenters
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or EKS
- Intermediate level understanding of networking concepts
- Experience managing large-scale Windows and/or Linux infrastructure across public cloud and/or private data centers
- Experience implementing automation / configuration management solutions with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, etc
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
- Various other products in our tool set you will need to use regularly: GitLab, Prometheus, Grafana, Jira
- Knowledge in observability best practices and industry trends

What the job involves

- This position will be a part of the Microflex infrastructure team
- The team is responsible for Ticketmaster’s Microflex core ticketing platform on-prem infrastructure which supports the European markets
- The mission of the team is to help build and maintain reliable, scalable and secure infrastructure needed to support the core ticketing systems multiple services and components
- This team is part of our broader team called Microflex Core team which includes the development teams that are responsible for developing and maintaining the Microflex ticketing system
- Designing scalable, automated and maintainable private cloud platform solutions
- Design and architecture of future private cloud architectures needs
- Implementation of controls to satisfy PCI requirements and participation in continuous monitoring and auditing activities
- Provide consultation and operational support work to development teams
- Education and evangelization of private cloud related capabilities
- Active participation in agile practices and cross departmental program management
- Ticketmaster is seeking a talented Systems Engineer responsible for managing and designing our infrastructure. You will be responsible for the overall reliability of these infrastructure services supporting critical business applications
- You will design and implement the tools that automate building and operating reliable systems
- You will be supporting a high-volume 24x7 production environment, as well as development and test environments
- You will help troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues
- The position includes collaboration with development teams to design a scalable and supportable service-oriented architecture
- This role is not directly responsible for the core ticketing business operations or applications, but rather for the infrastructure supporting those
- Provide subject matter expertise for our on-prem infrastructure/architecture
- Proactively identify and address stability, capacity, and performance concerns
- Implement provisioning and deployment automation when required
- Identify, develop, & implement solutions to other needs for process automation
- Checking in code for infrastructure build, automation, & tests to version control repository (GitLab)
- Support PCI / security compliance requirements (upgrades, defect management, etc)
- Regularly work with Jira, GitLab, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
- Liaise with other teams (Networking, Data Center Ops, Security, etc) as required
- Respond to, recover from, and prevent future occurrences of failures & outages
- Participate in on-call and potentially some after-hours support as required

Live Nation is the world's leading live entertainment company, sitting at the top of the market in live events and ticketing. Formed in 2009, it is a major international company, with key business segments made up of concerts, ticketing, and sponsorship and advertising.
Despite its dominant position in the market, the company saw an 84% drop in revenue during 2020 and the closure of live events. Since then, however, demand has been stronger than ever for their ticket sales. This is a reflection that live events remain a clear priority for consumers and has been further reflected in Live Nation's acquisitions of companies - like Goodlive - that complement and bolster Live Nation's portfolio.
In addition to live events, a key area to watch for Live Nation will be the rise of online concert streaming, like that undertaken by competitors such as Driift. Major festivals such as Glastonbury have trialled online concerts with mixed reviews. If it proves successful, this could be a major new section of the entertainment market and a big potential part of Live Nation's future ventures.
