Role
Who you are
- Degree in Computer Science or an engineering focused field
- 2+ years of work experience in software development
- Advanced skills in Python, data technologies and computer science in general
- Experience with Linux, version control and container technologies
- Driven self-starter, well-organized, and a strong team player
Desirable
- Good understanding of distributed systems, parallel computing, system efficiency and scalability
- Good understanding of machine learning and data science
- Experience with MLOps / DevOps, cloud technologies (Kubernetes) and orchestration
- Exposure to biomedical data
- Experience software development in regulated environments, specifically considering Information Security criteria under ISO 27001
What the job involves
- As a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Aignostics, you work hand in hand with our collaborators in academia and industry to push the state of the art of machine learning for digital pathology
- You will develop machine learning software for medical devices that will help to improve cancer research and diagnostics
- Together with your colleagues you will take care of the machine learning software stack and thereby enable our teams to build medical grade quality and scalable machine learning models

Our take
There has been a worldwide increase in the numbers and complexity of cancer cases, alongside a predicted global shortage of pathologists. With this, classic manual analysis does not have the capability to support the precision medicine and drug development processes of the future.
Through its precision diagnostics platform, Aignostics turns complex biomedical data into transformative insights. It is able to power target identification (for drug development) and biomarker analyses, as well as support clinical trials with its toolkits.
The company plans to continue expanding its portfolio with new product offerings for biopharmaceutical clients. It is also leveraging its latest funding round to support growth in the US, as well as the development of leading foundation models for pathology in collaboration with Mayo Clinic.
