Role
Who you are
- At least 2 years of management experience leading successful software engineering teams
- At least 3 years of experience working with Django (DRF) and React
- Experience with asynchronous task management (Celery preferred)
- Solid fundamentals in relational databases such as MySQL
- Experience solving challenging technical problems
- Team-first, customer focus, and quality-first mindset
- Strong communication and team-building skills
What the job involves
- Lead a small team of 3-5 software engineers to build out features as they come down our product roadmap
- Ensure the timely delivery of projects and remove blockers as they arise
- Translate epics and user stories into technical specification and ultimately development tasks
- Collaborate with other managers and leads to identify and implement technical solutions to improve the performance, reliability, and quality of the SchooLinks Platform
- Triage, prioritize and manage the resolution of production issues and customer escalations as needed, to ensure optimal resolution
- Ensure your team is maintaining good technical hygiene code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices

Founded in 2014, the company has grown its market position with an increasing number of customers, and continued to develop and improve both its features and integrations. For example, a partnership with Common App has enabled students using SchoolLinks to directly apply to over 900 higher education institutions with ease.
SchooLink's most notable competitor is Naviance, another company supplying college and career readiness tools, which has also seen significant progress in the market. That said, SchooLink's strong history of growth coupled with having substantial funding at its back should allow it to solidify its own place and capture further success moving forward.
