What the job involves
- You will work closely with teams across the operations and patient services (OPS) division to translate data and provide understanding at all levels of the business
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
- You will produce meaningful reporting and data insights, enabling the organisation to be data-driven, through the delivery of analytics and business intelligence solutions
- You will closely support OPS (Operations and Patient Services) teams to understand the databases, improve collection and use of data and work closely with colleagues to support the delivery of Anthony Nolan’s ambitious goals
- Deliver actionable insights through data analysis, visualisation, and storytelling, while developing self-service business intelligence solutions
- Maintain and document data flows, ensuring best-in-class analytics across multiple sources
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business processes and identify analytical opportunities
- Train and mentor colleagues, enhancing data literacy and improving reporting interpretation
- Ensure adherence to data validation and governance standards, working collaboratively to maintain accuracy
- Uphold high data quality standards, with a focus on automation and process improvement
- Contribute to the Data Community and support the implementation of the organisational Data Strategy

Founded in 1974 to find bone marrow donors for people suffering with blood cancer, Anthony Nolan is today one of Britain's largest recruiters of stem cell donors, along with DKMS, the Welsh Blood Service and NHS Blood and Transplant. As only one in four people with blood cancer will find a compatible donor in their family, Anthony Nolan's work saves over 1,000 lives a year worldwide.
Aside from recruiting donors, Anthony Nolan conducts research through the Anthony Nolan Research Institute, with its findings reducing post-transplant complications and increasing quality of life for patients. It also maintains the UK's first dedicated cord blood bank which allows new mothers to donate their umbilical cords for research.
Despite significant advances in blood cancer tratment since Anthony Nolan's founding, there's still a critical shortage of donors, sworsened by a sharp declinesiunce 2019. To combat this, the charity is actively raising awareness of this issue and is also set to open a new stem cell donation centre at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham to further help address the gap.
