Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering internal customer impact through bridging the gaps between various software applications, systems, and technologies
- 3+ years of experience in software integration or a similar role
- Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, PHP, etc.)
- Experience and understanding of databases, data structures, and data modeling (SQL, XML)
- Experience with integration technologies (APIs, middleware, ETL tools)
- Knowledge of network protocols, security, and cloud computing concepts
- Experience utilizing cloud deployment and infrastructure, container orchestration technologies e.g. Terraform, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless execution environments
- Experience with testing frameworks, developing and utilizing manual and automated testing, and CI/CD
- Demonstrated ability in breaking down open-ended problems into clear solutions, and mapping those into smaller deliverables and milestones
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, and translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions
- A track record in supporting the growth of peers and the team through mentorship, delegation, pairing, and sponsorship

- We are seeking a skilled Senior Integration Engineer to join our dynamic IT Engineering team
- This role is essential to enable a seamless flow of information across various enterprise workflows and systems, ensuring cloud, SaaS, and on-prem systems can communicate and work together seamlessly
- This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Engineering, Internal IT
- The IT Engineering team builds and maintains the solutions and systems integrations that enable enterprise productivity across the business

- Building strong relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their specific integration needs and broader tooling and workflow goals
- Analyzing existing systems and data flows to design customized integration strategies
- Developing and implementing reliable, scalable integration solutions utilizing APIs, middleware, ETL processes, and cloud technologies
- Supporting, maintaining and evolving integration solutions to ensure optimal performance
- Navigating a landscape of ever-evolving systems protocols, standards, and feature changes while maintaining data consistency and integrity across platforms
- Creating and maintaining clear technical proposals and documentation
- Ensuring production readiness and ongoing quality and reliability of your work by utilizing a broad range of testing and observability solutions
- Participating in an on-call rotation

Our take
Created as an alternative to more corporate eCommerce sites, Etsy is a peer-to-peer (P2P) website where users buy and sell handmade crafts, vintage items, art and photography. The online marketplace works similarly to Amazon and eBay, only with an emphasis on unique items rather than mass-produced merchandise.
Since its IPO in 2015, it has managed to hold its own in an increasingly competitive eCommerce industry, including from Amazon's handmade section that launched in 2015. Further, by providing sellers with ownership over pricing and branding, the site is attractive for those wanting to set up a business on an established platform.
However, the seller-side of Etsy is not without problems. A hike in transaction fees and the introduction of mandatory marketing fees for artists with high turnovers created significant discontent amongst sellers. Despite this, Etsy continues to connect artists and consumers, attracting shoppers with its message of extraordinary, handmade and affordable products.
