Who you are

Understanding of Compute and AI: A deep understanding of Compute and AI technologies is essential for this role. You should be able to articulate the benefits and applications of these technologies to potential clients
Technical Background: Ideally, you have a technical background and may have worked as an engineer in the past. This technical knowledge will be invaluable when engaging with clients and addressing their specific needs
Sales Acumen: While this is not a management role initially, strong sales skills are a must. You should be a persuasive communicator, able to negotiate effectively, and close deals
Experience in IP (RISC V or AI) or Hardware Sales: Candidates with experience in the IP (RISC V or AI) world or hardware sales to the AI ecosystem are highly desirable. Knowledge of these domains will give you a competitive edge
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (Engineering, Computer Science, Business, etc.)
Proven track record of successful sales in a technical environment
10+ years experience in account management and sales at in relevant industries
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

What the job involves

In this role, you'll build and nurture relationships with clients, identify new business opportunities, and leverage your technical background to understand and address their unique needs
Whether you come from a technical engineering background or have experience in IP (RISC V or AI) or hardware sales, your skills will be invaluable
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sales strategies
Understand clients' technical needs and effectively position & communicate the value of our Compute and AI solutions
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical insights and recommendations
Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments in Compute, AI, and related technologies
Provide regular reports on sales pipeline, forecasts, and KPIs to senior management and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system

Our take

Tenstorrent is a US- and Canada-based semiconductor startup specializing in processors for AI workloads. Rather than building gneral-purpose CPUs or GPus, the company develops custom chips and sofrware optimized for running moder AI models. As demand for AI accelerates, and as a global chip shortage reshapes the semiconductor industry, these trends have become strong tailwinds for Tenstorrent.

The company’s unique approach is to build for this future software, which it believes will be written at a higher level. Combining this with conditional computing, Tenstorrent supports a scalable distributed network approach that is analogous to a human brain.

While the market for specialized AI hardware is destined to be gigantic, the company has to compete with a plethora of hopeful startups (as well as major tech companies like NVIDIA and Qualcomm). That said, Tenstorrent boasts an excellent trajectory so far, with its latest moves including unveiling its high-end Wormhole AI processors, and a partnership with LG which will see the development of chips for "Affectionate Intelligence".
