Role
Who you are
- 4 years of experience in automation of semiconductor production lines that use vacuum equipment, printing equipment and inert gas chambers
- Ideally you have scaled up production processes in the past and know common challenges and solutions to it
- Ideally you have proven experience (at 2 years) in the industrial production of OLED lighting or displays, ideally with printing processes
- Ideally you can automatize production lines with robots and conveyor belts that use high accuracy
- Experience in PLC programming and SMEMA
- Ability to dive into leading-edge and highly innovative technology and manufacturing processes
- Preferably experienced in setting up and operating vacuum equipment for OLED production
- Self-motivated and creative/innovative
- Data-driven with strong documentation, data analysis, reporting, and communication skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Strong team player
What the job involves
- Your field is the Automation of production lines with conveyor belts and robot systems
- You are responsible for choosing, procuring and setting up the automation parts of an OLED production line
- You are responsible for optimizing production processes in connection with automation. These include Ink Jet printing, annealing in inert gas conditions, PVD systems
- You will identify issues and challenges in the process and develop solutions how to counter those issues
- You set up operating mechanisms for the automation of individual processing parts of the production line
- You will be responsible to establish work plans for maintenance and execute them

Our take
OLED displays are ultra-thin, printable sheets of organic compounds that emit light, and can be fully customised to react to prompts like touch and sound. The idea of using OLED in packaging has been around for years, but INURU have finally found a relatively low-cost, recycling-friendly way of making it a reality.
This is likely to prove a game-changer for the smart packaging market, which has been growing steadily over recent years. The focus of smart packaging to date has predominantly been on preventing food waste, but INURU’s solution broadens the OLED application range to prestige branded packaging. This should whet the appetite of deep-pocketed consumer goods companies, and indeed INURU made two limited-run OLED bottle designs for Coca Cola a few years ago. It’s curious that more brands have not, it appears, followed suit - so it may be the case that INURU’s solution is not yet fully scaleable.
INURU, however, appear to be in no rush to fully commercialise their solution just yet - and with good reason. The range of possible applications of this technology is dizzyingly broad, and INURU are wise to spend some time tinkering around. This innovation is likely to yield highly exciting, and potentially game-changing, fruit.
