Role
Who you are
- 4 + years working knowledge of one or more major programming languages
- A proven track record of delivering and scaling production quality software
- Experience using architectural patterns and standard development methodologies
- A passion for writing clean, testable, and scalable code
- Ability to engage in and demonstrate hands-on DevOps experience in solving critical problems and guiding teams on technical bridges
- Solid DevOps orchestration experience on IaC (Terraform/ CloudFormation or similar)
- Experience with large-scale distributed infrastructure systems; good understanding of Data Centres and provisioning/managing infrastructure resources (Compute/Network/Storage)
- Cloud platform experience working in AWS/GCP/Azure or similar
Desirable
- Strong coding skills in Bash or similar
- Experience working with containerized frameworks such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with RESTful web services is desirable
- Experience with Agile methodologies and best practices
- Experience with Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD)
- Monitoring tools - Prometheus, Grafana and Splunk
- Knowledge of Learning platforms and LMS
- Knowledge of technologies and patterns used within AWS including EC2, Lambda, S3, Aurora RDS
- AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect & DevOps Engineer
What the job involves
- Join our Learning Packaged Content team
- This team handles all standards-based eLearning content within Workday, which empowers our customers to gain and share knowledge, communicate, learn new skills, and grow their careers. This position will partner closely with the wider Learning group and teams based in Canada and the U.S.A
- Build scalable and reliable solutions to handle and deliver rich packaged content
- Contribute clean code and collaborate optimally with various partners
- Craft and develop software that enables people to use and engage with media content
- Contribute to capturing technical requirements and architectural decision making
- Mentor other developers by sharing your expertise
- Deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and in-depth code reviews
- Drive process and tooling improvements
- Work on an Agile Scrum team that delivers on shared commitment
