Role
Who you are
- You should be comfortable working alongside Engineering, Product, and Design teams to develop clean code
- B.S or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics (or equivalent work experience)
- At least 6 years of experience working in the software industry or a related field
- Strong portfolio (i.e. Github) demonstrating past work experience
- Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including QA and deployment processes
- Experience reviewing other developers’ code and mentoring developers of all levels
- Expert in at least one major, modern programming language and framework(s)
- Experience in Angular, ReactJS, Node.js, PHP, and/or Go
- Ability to take a loosely defined idea from the brainstorming phase to production, including the architecture plan, development, and testing process
- A clean sense of design aesthetics and a natural propensity towards simplification over complication
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively
What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for taking on a leading role in multiple Kargo products and will be integral in mentoring and guiding others
- Your focus will be in our internal and self-serve web apps for buying and managing advertising campaigns
- Ultimately, you will help shape and define our creative and collaborative processes and will follow a best practice approach to producing high-performing products
- You will work within our internal and self-service web apps to build innovative new functionality and improve upon the reliability of the platforms
- You are an industry savant - always wanting to learn more about Programmatic, Prebid, Identity, and other industry initiatives
- You will help decide the right tool and/or language that will best fit the problem at hand
- You will help define guidelines and best practices that the whole team will follow in order to improve process and speed up throughput
- You will recognize when patterns of bugs point to necessary refactors and work to implement tests and monitoring to prevent similar issues in the future
- You will participate in architecture planning, code reviews, and learning sessions to help spread knowledge, and you will be responsible for managing/upgrading the deployment processes of the products you work with
- You are expected to be a mentor to others on your team - both by fielding questions as well as by proactively identifying situations where more junior developers may need your help. You are the go-to engineer for advice and help from your peers

The company achieves this by directly integrating optimized impressions from the best-performing publishers within its specialized supply, using tangible identity metrics to analyze and improve advertiser KPIs, and overall facilitating personalized and mobile-optimized advertising.
The company acquired Videobyte (a video advertising platform for Connected TV) in early 2023 to expand operations into the relatively young digital TV industry and its lucrative TV formats. Bringing video, publisher tools, and unique formats to Kargo's omnichannel, this acquisition indicates a diversification of mediums for the advertising provider, who already has a firm grip on both mobile and desktop advertising platforms.
