The popularity of gaming is huge and ever-increasing, and these days a multitude of smaller companies operate in the industry. FuturLabs is an award-winning boutique game studio, which offers a range of titles across different devices, focussed on creating unique gaming experiences from distinctive ideas.
FuturLabs was licensed by Sony to makes games for PSP and PS3 in 2007, and in 2022 released its hit game “PowerWash Simulator”, published through a partnership with Square Enix. Interestingly, the company struggled to find funds to release the full version of this game – as it does not have the classic antagonism associated with video games – but opted to offer early access to show there was interest in the concept, proving its dedication to the release of unconventional titles.
By its partnerships with major players in the gaming space, it is clear FuturLabs has made an impact in the industry, having received BAFTA Gaming nominations for its titles. With the popularity of “PowerWash Simulator” reaching £7 million in sales in 2023, FuturLab has expanded its leadership team to include Tonic Games and Epic Games veteran Steve Tinkler as its Chief Financial Officer.
