Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a creative and experienced Events Marketing Manager to bring the Owner brand to life through high-impact events and activations
- 5+ years of experience in field marketing, events marketing, or experiential marketing, ideally with high growth, fast-paced companies, or experience working in events agencies serving venture backed companies
- You have experience supporting and executing events, and now you’re eager to take the next step: building an events function from the ground up. You’re excited by the opportunity to own strategy, operations, and execution, and to prove that you can create a scalable events program from scratch
- Highly organized with a very strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple events and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong reporting and analytics skills: comfortable building and pulling your own reports to communicate the full impact of field marketing initiative,
- A builder’s mindset: you have opinions, bring ideas to the table, and design customer-centered experiences
- Someone who is curious and plugged into the events world. you notice who’s doing events well and can speak to trends and inspiration
What the job involves
- This role is all about designing memorable in-person experiences that strengthen our brand, support sales, and connect us to the independent restaurant community. From flagship events and intimate dinners to conferences and industry expos, you’ll be at the forefront of how Owner shows up in the world
- Develop and execute IRL field marketing events (flagship activations, trade shows, small-format dinners, and local pop-ups) that drive awareness and pipeline growth in the SMB restaurant segment
- Partner closely with our sales team to design events that generate pipeline, accelerate deals, and deliver measurable ROI
- Identify and execute innovative activation opportunities that differentiate Owner, elevate the brand experience, and authentically reflect our identity and values
- Own cross-functional collaboration, ensuring events reflect brand identity while supporting demand generation, partnerships, and community-building
- Design and implement comprehensive reporting that capture, analyze, and communicate the full impact of field marketing initiatives, tracking event performance, brand sentiment, attendee engagement, pipeline influence, revenue contribution, and ROI with clear visibility for leadership
- Stay on top of industry trends and competitor activities, constantly innovating to keep the company’s events fresh, differentiated, and impactful

Our take
The Pandemic caused a major upheaval in the US restaurant industry. Smaller operations struggled to stay afloat amidst brick-and-mortar closures, and as the demand for home delivery soared their margins were tightened further by hefty third-party delivery app charges. Add to that the fact that consumers become customers of the delivery app, not the restaurant itself, and it’s a development that has spelt real trouble for independent locales. Owner has set out to level the playing field.
Owner’s platform provides independent restaurants with the infrastructure they need to take control of their business without deferring to third-party apps like GrubHub and Deliveroo. It offers marketing, online ordering, and support solutions to over 1,000 restaurants across the U.S. The company has taken impressive first strides, too: they have a 7 figure run-rate, over 105% monthly revenue retention, and helped restaurants avoid millions in online order platform fees.
It’s a hugely attractive proposition for independent business owners, and research suggests it’s a winning idea for consumers too. Over 60% say they’d prefer to deal with restaurants directly, but historically the infrastructure simply hasn’t been in place to do so. With Owner seeing impressive traction by tripling its customers between 2023 and 2024, it's unsurprising that its 2024 funding is being channelled into engineering and design teams, alongside the development of new tools.
