Senior Product Manager, StuRents

• Not for you if: Prefer to direct / project manage product management vs Execute, i.e are more experienced in supporting those who roll their sleeves up
• For you if.. (all bullet points below this) You have previous people management experience, having directly led a product management function, people or teams
• You’re excited about the idea of operating hands-on and being a player coach: hands-on in the day-to-day, while line managing and proactively developing junior and experienced product managers through 1:1s, feedback, development, and performance support and continuously raising the commercial acumen bar together
• You have strong experience as a Product Manager in B2B SaaS, owning outcomes not just outputs
• You’ve led product discovery work from fuzzy problem through to delivery, launch and iteration
• You’re comfortable setting direction for a domain, not just managing a backlog
• You’ve made prioritisation calls/recommendations daily and it’s second nature to you. You can explore and explain trade-offs with the why in plain english to any audience or experience level
• You’ve previously built an evidence base, combining customer insight, product intuition, and data
• Defining success measures before building is your preferred approach
• You’re commercially minded and you understand how product decisions connect to revenue, retention, support load, and operational cost
• You’ve partnered closely with Engineering and lead product design and have lots of successful experiential examples of trade offs on scope, quality, sequencing, and timing
• You’re technical enough to work well on estimation, risk, testing intent, and acceptance criteria, without pretending to be an engineer
• You’ve run pragmatic discovery without a big Research or Product Ops function having done it for you
• You are calm under pressure, you keep everyone in the know and on the same page, and you intentionally reduce ‘thrash’
• You enjoy coaching others and raising the bar for product thinking, communication, and decision quality
• You are hands-on and you like shipping, learning, and iterating, not just writing decks
• You can shape goals and direction for a product area, not just deliver a roadmap
• You’ve previously influenced without authority and brought Engineering and Design with you through clarity, not control
• You are pragmatic, you ship, and you learn fast, without needing perfect inputs or perfect process
• You can use analytics and metrics to define success, track outcomes, and make prioritisation calls
• You’re highly confident using data to inform great product decisions. Using quantitative and qualitative insight to prioritise problems, assess product performance, and understand how users move through the journey.
• You use metrics, user insight, and experimentation to help prioritise work, understand product performance, and evaluate impact
• You’re comfortably able to define success measures, interpret user behaviour, and use evidence to identify opportunities across acquisition, onboarding, conversion, engagement, and retention where relevant
• You’re experienced in defining success metrics, interpreting trends in user behaviour, and using evidence to identify what is working, what is not, and where to focus next
• You are comfortable using analytics tools and dashboards to understand how users interact with products and features and excited about teaching others to be able to do so too
• You have coached PMs or APMs through feedback, pairing, or mentoring
• You can partner with commercial teams on packaging, adoption, and go to market input
• You hold a product management qualification (e.g. AIPMM)

Desirable

• You’ll own outcomes for a defined product domain, or two or three or more, including discovery, prioritisation, delivery, and iteration
• Set clear goals and success measures, and keep yourself honest about whether we’re actually moving them
• Turn strategy, customer insight, and constraints into clear problem statements, hypotheses, and options
• Run discovery in a pragmatic way: customer conversations, feedback loops with CS and Sales, data review, and prototype testing where useful
• You’ll reduce thrash by improving decision quality and spotting risks early
• Partner with Engineering and Design to shape the roadmap, sequence work well, and keep delivery sustainable
• You’ll write clear narratives and requirements that help the team move quickly with shared context
• Protect focus by reducing noise, managing trade offs, and landing difficult decisions clearly
• Support high quality execution by being hands on with requirements, estimation conversations, testing intent, and acceptance criteria
• Help the team document what we ship and support internal enablement so CS, Sales, and Ops can explain changes with confidence
• Spot patterns in bugs and customer pain and push for structural fixes, not just quick patches
• You’ll support, mentor, coach and lead more junior product roles (Product Associates, APMs, and PMs and product designers / snr product designers) through feedback, 1:1s and team meetings
• Represent Product in cross functional conversations so what we build aligns to the business and is understood
• You’ll be a calm, clear voice in stakeholder conversations and you’ll explain decisions and trade offs plainly
