Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with our partner teams to scope new data and reporting needs, as well as leading technical deep dives in unfamiliar domains
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, data scientist, or other data professional
- Experience using BI and data visualization tools like Sigma, Grafana, Tableau, or Superset
- Strong SQL and Python skills; experience working with dbt and/or Spark desired
- Solid understanding of git and version control principles
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting and familiarity with MES and SCADA systems is highly desired but not required
- Curiosity, creativity, and tenacity when it comes to problem solving
What the job involves
- As a member of the data platform team, you will work at the intersection of the analytics engineering and business intelligence functions at Form
- This may mean helping our partner teams (e.g. manufacturing, operations) to define data requirements, creating data models in our data warehouse, or designing dashboards to capture key business metrics and insights
- Build, review, and optimize data models/transformations in our data platform using tools like dbt and/or Spark
- Work with our partner teams across Form to define and codify key business metrics
- Lead development of dashboards and coach others to create their own
- Manage how data stores interact with BI and analytics tools including Sigma, JMP, and Hex. This may include managing these environments and providing support to users
- Work closely with other Software teams to ensure that data are consistent across sources upstream and data models. This will be in an environment where schema migrations are frequent for existing data sources, and new sources are regularly introduced
- Help to build a strong data culture at Form
- Act as a collaborative member of a distributed software engineering team

Form Energy’s battery is based around Iron-air technology that currently has energy storage capacities and operational costs comparable to legacy power plants. In addition to improvements in cost and consistent electricity access, Form Energy’s batteries are scalable, portable, and safe - offering a unique approach to revolutionizing renewable energy storage towards a greener future.
Although renewable energy storage technology remains an emerging industry, a variety of competitors are also driving developments of battery storage technology. However, Form Energy continues to be a key leader in this space, bagging significant investment that will enable it to build its first manufacturing plant and begin selling to customers. Form Energy's progress is highlighted by a deal with Xcel Energy to deploy iron-air battery systems at two of its retiring coal plant sites and with Puget Sound Energy in 2024, to help the company deploy multi-day energy storage systems.
