Role
Who you are
- Great language skills and be fluent in both French and English (this is essential for the role)
- Fluency in Spanish as an additional language, though this is not essential
- Strong project management skills
- Strong B2B customer service skills and experience in dealing with French and ideally other European business clients
- A high attention to detail, be extremely organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload and manage your own time
- Previous experience gained in either administration or legal secretarial work
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proven knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Apps for work
- Prior experience of working in a financial services or regulated environment (highly desirable)
- Interest in the startup ecosystem, though this is not essential
- Highly confident and experienced speaking and working with both European and UK clients
- A motivated and proactive individual with the willingness to collaborate with and support other teams
- A problem solver; you tackle a problem in a logical, informed manner, weighing up all elements before making a call, with a keen eye for consistency
- Able to work with people of all levels within a business in a professional manner
- Able to demonstrate that you can multitask and get things done
- Adaptable to change and demonstrate that you can work in a fast-paced environment, and that you question the status-quo
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an engaged and highly organised person to join our Closing Team with great language and client relationship skills
- We’re enabling great businesses to succeed through equity crowdfunding and as a Closing Executive at Crowdcube, you will be part of a company's funding journey by managing all matters relating to the completion of Crowdcube fundraising rounds and post-funding support
- Responsibility for managing all matters relating to the completion of Crowdcube fundraising rounds and post-funding support
- Management of the completion process and client relationships for European and UK companies (with a focus on European, and in particular French clients)
- Raising invoices
- Preparing and submitting compliance packs
- Updating companies with regards to Anti-Money Laundering checks and payment collection (working closely with the Payments and AML Teams)
- Working closely with the legal team in order to finalise the completion of the rounds
- Assisting the Closing Team with:
- Developing processes (with and without Product support) for improving the efficiency of dealing with company completions, in particular communication with French investors and clients
- The translation of legal documents into multiple languages (working with an external translator)
- The translation of French communication documents and emails
- Working with the Product team to improve the experience for companies completing rounds, including improvements to the portfolio and other new product offerings
- Improving company content, FAQs and communications, specifically from a French perspective
Application process
- Our interview process typically consists of an initial phone screen, an interview with the hiring manager and a task, followed by a final interview with other members of the team. There aren't any trick questions and the task will typically be based on a real scenario the team have worked on
Our take
The number of startups looking for funding in Europe has grown dramatically over the last decade. Crowdfunding provides a solution to this, allowing companies to tap into the public rather than rely on institutional investors. The European crowdfunding market is predicted to be $5BN by 2025 and the amount of money pledged on crowdfunding platforms is now starting to rival traditional VC funding.
The company's best known competitor is Seedrs, and they both consistently compete to take on the most exciting startups as customers. For example, Revolut has hosted crowdfunding rounds on both Crowdcube and Seedrs. What set both companies apart though, has been their reach.
Crowdcube has worked hard to secure the first license to raise funding across European borders - not a measly feat by any chance. This gives them more than a leg up as the company can now expand its startup portfolio and present its users with a wider range of interesting companies to choose from.
