Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally with a concentration in accounting
- CPA or currently enrolled to obtain your CPA
- 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the technology industry or a public accounting firm
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills with a highly analytical mindset, and experience delivering on time-sensitive projects for senior executives
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task, own complex projects, and manage time effectively under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of insurance industry and accounting standards is a plus
What the job involves
- Direct reporting to the CFO, you’ll play an instrumental role in helping us become the defacto source for assurance on online purchases through generating accurate financial data and building robust financial processes
- Assist in key aspects of accounting operations, financial analysis and compliance
- This cross-functional role interfaces with Insurance Operations, Engineering, Partner Success, Customer Success and Sales
- Assist with multiple areas of our finance operations including cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, FP&A, and software implementation
- You will be key to generating accurate historical financial data that inform critical business recommendations
- You will work with our outsourced team and own: Month-end close, Cash forecasting, Retailer pricing, Customer collections and accounts payable, Tax, regulatory and assurance compliance , Bank, investor and board reporting, Overseeing AP/AR/claims processing
Our take
Mulberry offers consumers a browser extension which leverages machine learning to offer product protection and savings when they shop online. As well as this, the company’s tech can be integrated by brands to embed protection plans into their own online stores.
While the global InsurTech industry has been growing rapidly in recent years, there’s been comparatively little innovation in product protection. Mulberry is hoping to capitalize on this gap in the market as e-commerce continues to boom.
Though it may take some time to take its browser extension mainstream with consumers alone, Mulberry’s B2B approach is proving fruitful, while product-development partnerships with the likes of product registration platform Brij, and multinational insurance company AmTrust offer plenty of encouragement. Its substantial investment funding is being put towards scaling its operations and hiring new talent.
