Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, with significant ownership across frontend and backend systems and at least one experience leading a project with limited supervision
- Deep experience with React and TypeScript, plus a strong grasp of browser fundamentals, state management, and frontend performance
- Extensive experience designing and operating APIs or backend services (Python, TypeScript, or similar) under real production load
- Strong engineering fundamentals modular design, testing, and maintainable code paired with the judgment to know when simplicity is right and when more rigor is needed
- Experience guiding coding AI agents effectively, reviewing generated output, and retaining full ownership of the final implementation
- A track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar on a team
- A product-oriented mindset and clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our engineering team! You'll work across the full stack to design, build, and ship features that directly impact how pharma commercial teams engage with healthcare providers
- You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and ML engineering to solve complex problems and help bring our AI-powered platform to life
- We expect this person to be an active voice in how we plan and build contributing to epics, shaping scope, and bringing engineering perspective into roadmap conversations from the start
- Own significant product capabilities end-to-end from ambiguous problem framing through design, implementation, deployment, and iteration with minimal oversight
- Build accessible, data-rich user experiences with React and TypeScript that make complex commercial and healthcare insights clear and actionable
- Design and maintain reliable, scalable APIs and backend services connecting ODAIA's data, ML, analytics, and agentic capabilities to customer-facing products
- Work across our stack AWS, Kubernetes, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and embedded analytical engines like DuckDB and DataFusion
- Use Claude Code and other coding AI agents across the development lifecycle, and help define how the team uses these tools effectively
- Lead technical design, code review, and architectural discussions, surfacing risks and trade-offs early
- Mentor other engineers and help shape team practices around testing, observability, and code quality
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical roadmap decisions and platform investments

Our take
ODAIA have been growing fast in recent years. The company began in the University of Toronto with an intensive period of R&D in AI, journey mapping, and process mining. From there, the ODAIA commercial insights platform for the pharmaceuticals industry was born. Its MAPTUAL solution uses AI and predictive analytics on a vast spread of data to segment and target physicians, thereby driving up customer engagement.
Its rapid growth can be put down, in part, to a widespread shift in the way healthcare providers (HCPs) interact with Pharma, precipitated by the COVID pandemic. With on-site visits restricted, pharma reps needed to seek out different ways of forging meaningful client connections. What we’re seeing now is pharma messaging developing into more detailed, tailored forms of HCP support. As we’ve seen with marketing more generally, big data analytics is a phenomenally powerful tool for maintaining this competitive, tailored edge and funding awarded in 2023 proves that ODAIA's AI is being tipped as a solution for the "bottleneck" in pharma delivery and testing.
This means that ODAIA is blazing what is likely to prove an impressive trail in the new model of Pharma/HCP relations. Offering a more streamlined, modern method of targeting and value production, ODAIA is likely to prove an increasingly crucial player going forward in a highly lucrative market.
