Role

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant field
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an investor relations role at a public software/internet company and/or an analyst role at a sell-side equity research/buy-side investment firm
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret information and financial concepts for the investment community and management and apply them in business analysis situations
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and business models. Must demonstrate the desire and capacity to learn about our industry, products, competitors, and other key audiences
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel. While not required, experience with financial research tools such as FactSet and/or Capital IQ is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills. History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects
  • Self-starter attitude, high attention to detail, and ability to work with ambiguity in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to gather relevant information for investor communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Consistent track record of success and progression

What the job involves

  • This position reports to: GVP – Head of Investor Relations and Market Insights
  • The primary responsibility of the Investor Relations Manager is to support the company’s efforts in executing the investor relations program
  • Our team is focused on increasing shareholder value through effective communication of ServiceNow’s strategy, financial results, and operations to the financial community including shareholders and research analysts
  • Additionally, we also drive a better understanding of ServiceNow’s positioning and emerging trends for our management team by analyzing financial research/information about ServiceNow, its peers, and the industry
  • Provides ongoing information to executive/management team regarding investor feedback, perceptions and opinions, competitive intelligence from equity research positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, and periodic ownership analysis
  • Collaborate with Finance, Communication, and Legal teams in crafting the company’s messaging for the financial community including earnings calls, investor presentations at conferences, non-deal roadshows, etc
  • Supports the quarterly earnings results process, schedule, and the content of strategic news releases
  • Travel with management to investor conferences and non-deal roadshows
  • Develop and maintain robust understanding of business drivers and metrics; identify/track key themes and topics for investor discussion to inform our team and executives on emerging trends
  • Build models and leverage data analysis to understand complex relationships, identify key trends, and gain insight into our revenue/expense line items, drivers, and scalability
  • Competitive and strategic analysis on ServiceNow, its peers, and the industry as well as buy/sell-side trends to help keep management aware of the markets and investor views on ServiceNow
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement

The company was founded in 2004 with a vision to build a cloud-based platform that would enable regular people to route work effectively through the enterprise.

Much as Salesforce enables a company to manage its external clients by keeping a record of all contacts and interactions, ServiceNow promises an internal system to meet the needs of employees. It has succeeded in claiming half the market, setting itself apart from legacy IT service-management software players like BMC Software, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Cherwell Software and CA Technologies.

The company's success comes from two product traits: simplicity and customisability. ServiceNow's IT tools don't require the IT department to set them up. Once running, they offer a single collection centre for requests, data points and checklists, all of which can in turn be analysed by algorithms to predict needs, flag concerns and measure efficiency.

The company has more than 7500 customers, including 80% of the Fortune 500 list of the United States' largest corporations. ServiceNow now looks to increase its revenue threefold in upcoming years and has entered into a 5-year partnership plan with Visa, beginning with the launch of a Visa-integrated dispute resolution solution for issuers. The company is prioritising organic growth over mergers and acquisitions, with a target revenue of $15 billion, something which its Visa partnership will no doubt aid in achieving.
