Manager of Software Engineering, Jobber

• A track record of success in being an established software engineer, as well as time spent in a leadership position, guiding a team in the delivery of quality software
• Strong full-stack technical background, including design and architectural experience. Deep knowledge and experience in either Ruby On Rails environments or ReactJS is essential
• A drive to succeed and deliver impactful projects on time. For a high performing team with a solid roadmap that might look like getting out of their way, but for a team whose delivery is in doubt, it means getting in and getting dirty, and working with the team to find a path back to success

• In this role, you will manage the New Bets team within Fintech
• This team is focused on building 0-to-1 financial products that help Jobber customers run the financial side of their businesses more effectively
• The team is currently building bookkeeping and accounting capabilities, with a mandate to bring new products from early discovery through launch, stable operations, and future expansion
• As a leader within the Fintech group, you will manage a growing engineering team as they build new products in ambiguous, fast-moving spaces
• You’ll help the team bring our bookkeeping product into stable operations after launch, establish strong AI-augmented development practices, and create the conditions for the team to operate with a high degree of independence across product, design, and engineering decisions
• The Fintech group’s New Bets team exists to help Jobber service providers spend less time managing financial operations and more time providing great service and growing their businesses
• Reporting to a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, the Manager of Software Engineering will lead and support their team members in developing their skills and advancing their careers—all while contributing to our mission of empowering small businesses
• You'll also play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our platform, ensuring it remains reliable and high-performing as we scale Jobber
