Who you are
- An inspiring ideas generator with the ability to run brainstorming sessions across creatives and copywriters to develop innovative, cut-through visual and storytelling ideas for the brand
- An intuitive leader, with an impressive, multi-faceted creative backstory rooted in art direction and graphic design
- A digital native with strong front-end design and UX knowledge who thinks digital first but is able to adapt ideas to multiple formats including physical experience, print and social media
- A strong understanding and interest of the sports, design and in particular, cycling industry
- Highly organised, with the innate ability to prioritise work and resources across requirements, working with production, marketing and key stakeholders in developing schedules and timelines
- A researcher, with a rich knowledge of photography, video, graphic design and art, as well as a reference library to help illustrate and present your ideas
- The ability to balance artistic vision and innovation with business objectives
- On set presence and direction skills, with the ability to manage challenging shoots and a strong understanding on how to capture humans in motion
- Presentation prowess, adaptable for varied audiences including your immediate team, company stakeholders and executive leadership
- Extensive experience as a creative leader in brand and agency settings
- Management training and experience running and developing in-house teams
- Deep experience in campaign production, roll out and budget management
- Proficiency in key design tools including Keynote, InDesign, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and the broader Adobe suite
What the job involves
- Rapha, the world’s largest premium cycling apparel brand, is excited to open an incredible opportunity to join the business as Creative Director, Brand
- This role is new to the business, and in partnership with the Chief Brand Officer, will be responsible for leading the end-to-end visual shift and creative vision of Rapha
- Leading a talented team of art directors, graphic designers and producers, as well as a global freelance roster, the right candidate will bring a seasoned mix of creative thinking, marketing expertise and industry acumen to the role to ensure the advancement of the brand position against the company vision, customer profiles and financial objectives

- The right profile offers skills that are multifaceted and honed, yet constantly developing to bring fresh thinking and dynamic solutions to creative briefs
- Key Partners: Brand Marketing Director, Head of Merchandising, Digital Director, Head of Product Management, Head of Store Planning and Visual Merchandising
- Lead with vision and flair across all our creative outputs, from email and social media campaigns to global marketing campaigns and out of home brand campaigns
- Work closely with the CBO and CEO on developing and delivering sentiment-shifting brand campaigns
- Collaborate cross-departmentally, from product design and planning to visual merchandising execution and retail, to galvanise teams and ideas towards the best possible creative outcomes
- Collaborate with our Marketing Director and Merchandising leads to develop robust marketing campaigns aligned to our annual product launch calendar
- Lead the Ecom studio team, to continually evolve and improve product page imagery and video outputs
- Lead a tight team of multi-disciplinary creatives to deliver world-class collateral for the brand across all touchpoints
- Guardianship of brand standards and the brand design system to ensure detail and consistency
- Utilise brand tracking, campaign hindsight data and industry/competitor trends to continually progress campaign results and keep Rapha ahead of the pack
- Meet budget planning, spend and tracking requirements in partnership with the Senior Production Manager and CBO
