Who you are

  • 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
  • Knowledge of QA methodology and tools
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Hands on knowledge of unix/linux
  • Excellent understanding of network protocols like TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP
  • Proficiency in L2/L3 networking concepts
  • Knowledge of wireless networking (802.11ac/ax/be)
  • Experience using Python and/or Linux shell scripting skills and/or contributed to automation framework
  • Led small to mid sized projects from start to end

Desirable

  • Experience with consumer and enterprise networking hardware such as routers, switches, wireless access points
  • Experience using Python and/or Linux shell scripting skills
  • Experience with mobile app testing
  • Experience testing cloud APIs
  • Clear and concise communication

What the job involves

  • You will help the QA team validate software releases and ensure a great customer experience
  • You'll work closely across multi-functional development teams to help discover, recreate, and debug issues
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute and grow our existing Python automation framework to expand our test coverage
  • Black and gray box testing on driver and userspace embedded software
  • Provide additional cross functional test support for other team members
  • Develop ad hoc tests to support engineering debug
  • Writing and executing test plans to ensure complete code coverage
  • Providing detailed bug reports to the engineering Team using JIRA
  • Work with distributed development and test teams
  • Prepare and maintain test beds and hardware

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and is well-known for its disruption of well-established industries. The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft.
