• As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will primarily focus on building product features and integrating them end-to-end
• This role demands a high bar for Rails proficiency
• You will be responsible for building features, fixing bugs, writing tests, and shipping features quickly and reliably
• You will work closely with our product and design team, taking Figma designs and architecting features from the ground up
• This includes designing the database schema, determining necessary endpoints (REST or GraphQL), creating migrations, models, validations, writing comprehensive tests, and delivering a fully functional API swiftly and without bugs
• Thorough testing is mandatory
• In addition to backend responsibilities, you will handle the data layer for the frontend, including data fetching and state management, allowing UI engineers to focus on the interface. Your work will span various domains, including building systems for creators to onboard affiliates, enhancing marketplace search using tools like Elasticsearch or Typesense, supporting backend features for apps such as chat and forums, and synchronizing data from external APIs. You will also be involved in integrating with payment processors like Stripe
