- 2+ years of experience in analytics, operations, credit, or strategy roles—preferably within a fintech, financial services, or lending environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Information Management or a related field; equivalent work experience also considered
- Advanced Excel skills and strong experience using SQL and Python (1+ year preferred)
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a customer-centric mindset
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Experience with digital engagement tools or collections platforms (e.g. LiveVox, Braze, Twilio)
- Familiarity with consumer lending products or unsecured credit portfolios
- Exposure to machine learning models or segmentation strategies for collections
What the job involves
- Avant is adding to our Collections Strategy team
- This person will be a key member of our Collections Strategy team and responsible for supporting the development and implementation of our customer payment plans, digital customer engagement campaigns, strategy effectiveness reporting, and leading scale enablement projects
- Contribute to the design and execution of collections strategies, including digital customer engagement, payment plan structures, and operational readiness
- Monitor and analyze collections performance metrics and resilience to assess effectiveness and recommend optimizations
- Create and maintain regular reporting on key operational results and KPIs; deliver insights to cross-functional partners and leadership
- Lead and support analytics projects end-to-end—requirements gathering, data extraction, manipulation, visualization, and presentation of findings
- Collaborate with teams across product, data, and operations to identify trends, customer behavior insights, and opportunities to improve collections efforts
- Recommend and support the rollout of process improvements, tooling enhancements, and automation efforts to scale strategy
- Facilitate working sessions and meetings with stakeholders to communicate findings and drive action on key initiatives
- Evaluate performance against targets and assist in updating strategic plans accordingly

Many Americans with below average credit scores are caught in a bind: they're unable to improve their score, and simultaneously cannot access traditional loans. Avant's alternative is to offer credit options that are powered by machine learning and based upon a large database that helps to manage risk.
For its users, the company offers a quick credit decision and speedy access to any allotted funds. It has issued over $8 billion in loans to date, and has also expanded its business through the acquisitions of ReadyForZero in 2015 and Zero Financial in 2021.
This expansion has enabled Avant to reach towards its goal of offering a whole suite of products in a single platform, such as loans, credit cards, and deposits. Although there are many FinTechs looking at ways to remove the barriers that people with low credit scores face when trying to take out loans, this expansion to banking products should help Avant to stand out.
