Expert-level Go experience, including concurrency, memory management, and idiomatic design

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep Go expertise to help build and operate the low-latency, high-reliability infrastructure behind Chainlink Data Streams
This team powers real-time, decentralized data delivery for DeFi protocols where uptime, performance, and correctness are mission-critical
You’ll design and ship distributed systems at scale, own production reliability, and play a key role in shaping how Chainlink delivers data under extreme network and market conditions
Design and build high-performance Go services for low-latency data streaming
Architect scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and evaluate technical trade-offs
Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental, production-ready deliverables
Own reliability through observability, alerting, and operational best practices
Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical infrastructure
Lead code reviews and raise the bar for testing, maintainability, and system design
Collaborate with product, SRE, and protocol teams to align technical execution with business goals

Our take

Smart contracts are the future of transparent, fair, and efficient digital dealings across industries as diverse as lending, real estate, and international trade. Historically, the application of smart contracts was limited to on-chain data, but oracle mechanisms like Chainlink Labs can be used to import off-chain data (like those required for the broader application of smart contracts) onto the chain.

Chainlink Labs' work has marked a significant step forward in the progress of blockchain technologies - and has proven a remarkable success story for the company. It is responsible for the largest global decentralized oracle network in the world, used by hundreds of projects spanning online gaming and cryptocurrency. It has also received its fair share of critique - but blockchain technology at large remains a work in progress, and Chainlink has been quick to develop solutions.

All in all, the benefits of Chainlink’s work look set to become even more pronounced, as smart contracts become more applied across the globe. In late 2022, the company launched the staking of its native token LINK to increase the security of the protocol and enable the Chainlink system to grow. Building on that, it has recently introduced a new community rewards program for LINK stakers, further encouraging participants while also strengthening its network through active community involvement.
