Role
Who you are
- 3–5+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS
- Proven track record of owning a product roadmap end-to-end
- Experience in mid-market or enterprise software (not exclusively consumer/startup)
- Ability to work with data: churn analysis, NRR, deal-loss patterns, customer segmentation
- Strong communication in both German and English (our customers are DACH, our team is international)
- Comfort with ambiguity — we are building the PM function from scratch
- Experience working directly with engineering teams and understanding technical trade-offs
- Structured thinker who can say “no” with clear reasoning
Desirable
- Experience in CLM, legal tech, procurement, or compliance software
- Background in German Mittelstand / mid-market B2B sales cycles
- Familiarity with AI/ML product features (extraction, classification, intelligence)
- Experience scaling a product from €1M to €10M+ ARR
What the job involves
- As our first dedicated Product Manager, you will own the product strategy and roadmap. You connect customer needs, market positioning, and business goals into a coherent product direction. You work alongside a Product Owner who handles backlog execution, and you report directly to the co-founders
- This is not a feature factory role. You will make strategic decisions about what we build, what we don’t build, and why — backed by customer data, churn analysis, and competitive insight
- Own the product roadmap — define quarterly priorities based on customer journeys, revenue impact, and strategic positioning
- Translate customer problems into product decisions — use churn data, deal-loss analysis, and CS feedback to prioritize what matters
- Define positioning through product — work with Sales and Marketing to align product capabilities with target deal sizes (€20K–€50K+)
- Set the line on scope — clearly communicate what we build and what we deliberately do not build
- Drive cross-functional alignment — bridge Engineering, CS, Sales, and Marketing around shared goals and deliverables
- Establish product metrics — define and track success criteria per feature, per journey, per quarter
- Conduct competitive analysis — monitor CLM market, identify differentiation opportunities in DACH
- Run quarterly product reviews — present progress, learnings, and course corrections to leadership
Our take
ContractHero’s software solutions allow businesses to easily initiate and manage contracts, search them for key data, and receive reminders ahead of expiry. Its products are aimed at small to medium size businesses, that can simply upload contracts as PDF documents as normal, then let the company’s software do the rest.
Founded in 2020, ContractHero was able to attract pre-market-launch funding from VR Ventures and tech fund Coparion, followed by seed funding in 2023. Though still relatively small, there’s huge room for growth for ContractHero as the company attempts to bring a simple solution to the longstanding problem of laborious admin for SMEs.
