A Foundation in Automation: Deep experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and a passion for automating everything
CI/CD Expertise: Proven ability to build, manage, and migrate complex CI/CD pipelines (experience with TeamCity and GitHub Actions is a huge plus)
Cloud & Container Skills: Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (GCP preferred) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
DevOps for Java: You understand the Java ecosystem from an operational perspective (Maven/Gradle, microservice monitoring)
Scripting: You're comfortable writing scripts and building tools to solve problems (Python, Go, or Groovy)
A Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills and a history of working effectively with development teams

Desirable

Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Familiarity with a variety of data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, ClickHouse)

Within Core Trading Technology, we're looking for a proactive and passionate engineer to help us modernize our core infrastructure and development practices
This isn't just about maintaining systems; it's about owning them
You'll be a key player in migrating our CI/CD pipelines to a modern platform (like GitHub Actions) and shaping the future of our hybrid cloud environment

CI/CD Modernization: Lead the charge in migrating our pipelines from TeamCity to a modern CI/CD platform, designing robust, automated workflows for our Java-based microservices
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and manage our hybrid infrastructure (GCP and on-prem) using Terraform and Ansible. You'll automate everything from provisioning to security compliance
Platform Reliability & Observability: Engineer a highly reliable system by implementing best-in-class observability (metrics, logs, tracing). You'll define SLOs, tune alerts, and lead post-incident reviews to ensure we learn and improve
Developer Enablement: Act as a force multiplier for our development teams. You'll collaborate with them to improve deployment strategies, enhance service observability, and champion DevOps best practices
Operational Excellence: Take ownership of our production environment, ensuring stability, participating in on-call rotations, and continuously improving our operational runbooks and processes

Our take

Deutsche Bank is one of Europe's biggest banks, operating in around 60 countries. It has a long history but hasn't struggled to keep up with the changing times. Like launching Vert, a digital payments service for small and medium businesses, and focusing on investments that are good for the environment and society.

The banks performance in 2025 has been impressive too. In the first nine months, pre-tax profit reached €7.7B (up 64% from last year) and net profit climbed to €5.6B (a 76% increase). And all business divisions delivered double-digit profit growth, supported by revenue gains and disciplined cost management.

If this wasn't impressive enough, the bank is also making strong progress in ESG, reporting €23B in sustainable financing in the third quarter of 2025 alone. With these healthy finances, a clear strategic direction, and a focus on responsible growth, Deutsche Bank is in a very promising position for the future.
