Who you are
- Have successfully completed your 1L year at an ABA-accredited law school and are available to work 40 hours per week during standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm PST). are available to work in the SF office Monday through Wednesday during standard business hours
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine curiosity about different in-house legal groups
- Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Creative thinker and self starter with a passion for consumer FinTech
- Are flexible and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects
- Have a low ego and are comfortable working directly well with a wide range of stakeholders
What the job involves
- Chime is looking for a law student who has just completed their 1L year to join our Legal & Compliance team this summer
- Chime’s legal and compliance department works cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization to collaborate, support the growth of the business, and mitigate associated risks
- As an intern, you will have a unique opportunity to understand the functions of an in-house legal department, the role of each practice group within the legal department, and how to balance business needs against potential legal risks
- This role is structured as a 3 month engagement
- Learn how Chime’s legal and compliance practice groups work together to support business needs. Our legal practice groups include: Intellectual Property, Privacy, Corporate, Commercial, Product, Litigation and Regulatory, and Employment
- Work on engaging assignments and projects within our various legal and compliance departments. A few examples of past assignments include assisting with legal investigations and reviewing and redlining commercial agreements.
- Participate in networking opportunities and receive mentorship that fosters personal and professional development
