Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of total experience across software engineering and business roles—such as integration development, technical project management, or product management—with at least 3+ years in engineering
- Strong backend engineering skills, with a solid grasp of API design, data modeling, and authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys)
- Experience integrating with complex systems or platforms—such as ERPs, telematics, or accounting tools like Oracle, Samsara, NetSuite, or QuickBooks
- Comfortable collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external partners—translating business objectives into technical deliverables
- You’re energized by owning ambiguous, high impact projects end-to-end
- Bonus: Experience in fintech, accounting, SaaS partnerships, or vertical industries like construction, logistics, or field services
What the job involves
- We’re seeking our first Integrations Engineer to help us scale Coast into more complex, bespoke environments
- In this first-of-its-kind role, you’ll be at the intersection of engineering, customer success, and strategic partnerships
- You’ll report to our Head of Customer Success, and act as the primary GTM representative to Product & Engineering on integrations
- Independently build and support mission-critical integrations—while also partnering with external developers and, over time, growing a team—to enable seamless adoption of Coast across complex, distributed organizations
- From accounting and ERP tools to telematics and HRIS systems, you’ll help ensure our platform plugs directly into the way our customers work
- This is a core strategy for our revenue expansion, and you would be at its forefront
- This is an opportunity to shape the foundation of our enterprise integration strategy and make a direct impact on product adoption, retention, and growth
- Build a rapidly growing portfolio of high quality and valuable integrations to external systems that matter to Coast's customers—driven by a clear prioritization framework that aligns to customer impact, product strategy, and long-term platform value
- Motion established for working with both employees and contractors to build and manage custom integrations
- Act as a key stakeholder and developer customer proxy to Coast's product engineering teams to build and refine a best-in-class API to Coast
- Successful onboarding of enterprise customers with custom integrations to Coast API (both guided and self-service by customer)
- Drive enterprise acquisition and expansion by leading technical discovery, scoping, and implementation planning to ensure successful integration of Coast into complex customer environments
- Lead cross-functional scoping and rollout of strategic integrations; partnering with GTM, Product, and external teams to align on requirements, timelines, and customer outcomes
- Act as the primary GTM representative to Engineering on integrations—driving clarity around use cases, improving delivery processes, and ensuring that product and platform teams are tightly looped into customer and partner needs
- Identify, evaluate, and manage external developers and agencies, or build integrations yourself and with your future team, to deliver solutions that are critical to our customers’ workflows and user experience
- Own the technical success of integrations by driving planning, QA, and maintenance for key partner systems—serving as the escalation point for support issues, questions on capabilities, and troubleshooting unexpected behavior
- Work directly with customers alongside sales and customer success teams, pre- and post-sale, to understand their operating environments and help design and scope integrations for successful deployment
- Collaborate with business and technical counterparts at partner companies, and with Coast’s business development team, to deliver integrations with their systems and improve their integration capabilities and APIs
- Create reusable internal tooling and best practices for accelerating integration delivery
- With success and scale, you’ll build and lead a team of integration engineers to extend Coast’s capabilities and support our growing customer and partner ecosystem
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert during partner evaluations and go-lives

In recent years, companies like Ramp, Brex, Divvy, and others have emerged to provide easier ways for companies to allow their employees to pay for job-related expenses through corporate cards. However, none of these services really work for businesses operating automobile fleets - approximately 10% of B2B card spend in the US.
That’s where Coast comes in, offering a modern card issuing expense solution specifically built for fleets. The Coast card meets the demands of fleets-specific controls, security, and visibility, contributing to preventing fraud and unauthorized use. Its platform allows fleet managers to visualize spend, block or flag transactions for review, and set their own rules for card holders.
With back-to-back funding rounds awarded in 2024, Coast has been focused on expanding its team and the platform’s capabilities, offering a wider range of financial products - including parking, maintenance, and other on-the-road expenses on top of just fuel. Its Visa Fleet card program, which enables Coast Visa Fleet cardholders to make payments wherever Visa is accepted, makes it an attractive option in the market as fleet management continues to modernize.
