Compensation and Benefits Manager, Axis Insurance

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in benefits and compensation management, with specific experience in Canadian payroll
• Proven management experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and strong understanding of Canadian payroll regulations
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, particularly in integrating payroll and benefits systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Leading and managing the benefits and compensation team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and engagement
• Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process across Canada using ADP Workforce Now
• Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including compliance with federal and provincial regulations
• Collaborating with Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile payroll accounts and address discrepancies
• Developing and managing comprehensive benefits programs, including health, dental, retirement plans, and other employee benefits
• Conducting regular assessments of benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and compliance with legal standards
• Serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits and compensation
• Designing and implementing compensation structures that align with organizational goals and industry benchmarks
• Conducting market research to maintain competitiveness in compensation offerings and make recommendations for adjustments as needed
• Managing and overseeing salary reviews, bonuses, true-ups, promotions, and other compensation-related processes
• Leading the integration of benefits and compensation programs for newly acquired entities
• Collaborating with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure seamless addition of new employees to the payroll system
• Evaluating and harmonizing benefits offerings to align with organizational standards and culture
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations related to payroll, benefits, and compensation
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports regarding payroll, benefits, and compensation data
• Conducting audits and analyses to identify areas for improvement in payroll and benefits processes
• Fostering a positive workplace culture through effective communication of benefits and compensation programs
• Working with our Life, Benefits and Wealth team on conduct training and information sessions for employees to enhance understanding of benefits offerings and payroll processes
