Who you are
- A curious and deep thinker with strong analytical skills and great instincts
- Code and data literate: you can write python, are familiar with pandas, can write SQL if you have to, happy building dashboards, and can explain what it all means to non-technical teammates
- Comfortable managing up, managing chaos, and managing calendars
- Interested in product, consumer behaviour, digital ecosystems, or startups
- A strong communicator who can switch between data mode and brainstorm mode with ease
- Thrive in a fast-paced culture, and are excited to be in the centre of a scaling business
- Bonus points if you’ve worked in wellness, tech, or membership-based businesses
- Even more so if you have ML experience
What the job involves
- This isn’t a typical data analyst or executive support position. It’s for someone who wants to understand how the entire business works and use that knowledge to make it better, faster, and smarter.
- You’ll be working directly with our Chief Product & Technology Officer, supporting across three primary functions:
- Data & Insight Generation – helping us better understand customer behaviour, product (physical & digital) performance, and commercial impact:
- Build, maintain and evolve our internal analytics model for clearer, faster insights
- Build BI dashboards to improve accessibility of site and group level metrics
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing to ensure the right data is being captured and used
- Turn ad hoc (and often complex) business questions into data-led answers. Eg. We promote cross-discipline training, but how beneficial is this to trial -> membership conversion?
- Move us beyond snapshots e.g. manual Google Sheets to more scalable, automated reporting, using Snowflake + BI tools
- Operational & Executive Support – a right hand to the CPTO, helping him stay focused on the big picture by taking ownership of comms, prep, and project details:
- Act as a high-functioning EA to the CPTO — running projects, preparing for meetings, taking actions forward, and surfacing priorities
- Understand the inner workings of the departments that report into the CPTO (Product, Tech, Growth, Brand & Content) and stay two steps ahead on priorities
- Act as a day-to-day gatekeeper and sounding board, helping manage time, energy, and focus
- Draft first versions of reports, project updates, or analysis
- Join product/tech meetings to track discussions and support execution
- Manage CPTO’s calendar, meeting prep, and inbox with high awareness of company priorities
- Personal support where required
- Strategic Problem Solving Thought Partner – partnering to unpack complex questions and develop thoughtful, data-informed answers that drive our next moves:
- Help make space for deeper thinking – not just by removing noise, but by engaging and contributing thoughts, testing ideas, and bringing data to the table
- Investigate key business questions and tease out the lessons from our customers’ behaviour, distilling it all into actionable insights
- Keep a working understanding of the whole BLOK ecosystem – how data connects to product experience, member behaviour, and commercial impact
- Develop a holistic understanding of our customer journey and help shape cross-functional strategies that improve it
- Partner on identifying inefficiencies, missed opportunities, or patterns hiding in plain sight
