Role
Who you are
- Ash is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead with a proven track record in software development, extensive experience with a variety of database and containerization technologies, and a demonstrated ability to manage an agile Scrum team
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions
- You’re an excellent communicator. You can engage effectively with teammates and are comfortable working with stakeholders across the business

- You are passionate about solving problems involving complex systems related to the delivery of high quality healthcare
- You have an automation mindset
- You drive best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development with a deep understanding of its ecosystem, libraries, and best practices
- 3+ in a senior engineering role, with demonstrable experience leading a team of engineers
- Expertise in building, scaling, and managing database solutions, with particular focus on MySQL, key-value stores, and document storage
- Strong working knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring of containerized applications
- Proven experience leading Agile/Scrum teams, driving daily stand-ups, requirements-setting, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality software on schedule
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
What the job involves
- As a Technical Lead in the platform group, you'll be a pivotal member of our team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of innovative solutions within the core of Ash’s tech stack
- You will build and improve upon services that touch every part of the business, and will be a key player in building infrastructure that makes high quality care easier to access
- Work with engineering teams to build infrastructure solutions to problems throughout the business
- Support teams across the organization in establishing strong deployment pipelines and QA processes
- Work across the organization to strengthen development, testing, and alerting infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable Kubernetes clusters, and implement best practices for container orchestration, monitoring, and automation
- Identify network bottlenecks and performance issues
- Conduct regular audits to ensure network security and compliance

Founded in 2019, Ash Wellness is an end-to-end platform that offers remote diagnostics solutions to businesses and healthcare providers. It was created to help facilitate a healthcare environment that is both inclusive and accessible to all, which includes those who cannot travel out to receive healthcare.
Its white-label testing solution offers customizable tests based on client needs, with over 10 partner labs to deliver results - and upwards of 50,000 tests already completed since Ash was launched. With tech advances improving the quality and connectivity of portable equipment and communications, it's proving an innovative way of addressing the thousands of medically underserved areas in the United States.
The market, however, is correspondingly competitive. Startups like LetsGetChecked and Everlywell are examples of a growing number of home diagnostics startups which have been attracting VC money over recent years. Ash Wellness has successfully raised funding, which will help it set itself apart in the market as it invests in its services moving forwards.
