Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional software development experience at companies with 10 or more developers (consumer-facing experience is a plus)
- Experience developing and maintaining web-based solutions in modern Python, ideally using Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks
- Experience building consumer-facing frontend applications in React and Typescript
- Robust understanding of web standards, infrastructure (databases, storage, caching, content delivery, etc.), and cloud platform offerings
- Strong debugging skills and a track record of independently solving problems
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, CI/CD pipelines for automated testing & deployment, and infrastructure tools like Terraform
- Ability to work in person 1-2 days per week from our Boston, MA office

- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization

- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help us build tech solutions to accelerate our sustainable energy future
- As a member of the team, you'll build and refine tools for both our residential customers and the internal teams that operate our business
- You’ll make an impact by writing quality code, steering projects from conception to completion, helping refine our processes, and guiding junior team members
- You will report to your squad’s Tech Lead
- Deliver value: Internalize our objectives and deliver measurable change for Nexamp and our customers
- Write code: Design, implement, and deploy reliable and efficient production software in our React/Django/Azure stack
- Elevate your squad: Actively participate in sprint planning, execution, code reviews, demos, and retrospectives
- Grow others: Guide and inspire junior developers across the org through mentorship and collaboration
- Grow yourself: Continually seek ways to level-up your own skills and make a bigger impact throughout the company
