- 3-5+ years' experience as a Product Manager within a technology or digital organization
- Deep technical experience in the Commerce space, both with backend APIs / architecture and frontend client user flows and experiences
- Streaming/TVE/Connected TV/mobile industry and domain experience
- Experience leading high profile, multi-faceted products and communicating initiatives across the organization (including senior leadership and stakeholders)
- Experience delivering all phases of a project, including planning, design, development, and implementation
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with c-suite presentations required
- Ability to navigate complex projects with many cross-functional points of view
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of follow-through
- A love of working collaboratively with others
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn from mistakes and from others
What the job involves
- We tell engaging stories to millions of viewers, and we are looking for a Product Manager to join the Subscription, Membership & Customer Lifecycle team within the Growth Product organization
- As a Product Manager on the SMCL team working in the Commerce space, you’ll drive the strategy and execution of critical growth initiatives
- You’ll be tirelessly thinking about how to grow our customer base and revenue in impactful ways
- Day-to-day, you’ll succeed by learning what’s worth doing that is simultaneously usable, valuable, and feasible, through utilizing product discovery and design thinking
- You’ll connect regularly with customers to become an expert on our audience and industry
- You’ll lead and motivate a dedicated, cross-functional Agile team by communicating vision, authoring robust product requirements, and coordinating regularly and clearly with partners and stakeholders
- Develop deep understanding of the customer, data, business, and industry, specifically in the Commerce space
- Set, articulate, and advocate product vision and strategy for all initiatives. Clearly communicate it up, down and across the organization to align and get buy-in
- Define and build consensus on meaningful metrics for success for all initiatives. Track and report on metrics to understand product performance
- Prioritize features and enhancements in the backlog through rigorous prioritization methods
- Author robust product requirements and build shared understanding and alignment with your design and engineering partners, and all cross-functional stakeholders
- Ensure good communication and transparency by partnering with internal teams including editorial, marketing, advertising, business development, distribution, customer support, etc
- Gather critical legal requirements for your product area to develop compliant yet delightful customer experiences
- Coordinate with product peers and their teams to share learnings and ensure quality cross-platform experience
- Discover opportunities worth pursuing through rapid experimentation via product discovery, A/B testing, and design thinking methods
- Identify and map customer goals, values and needs more than “wants” or “table stakes”
- Inform decisions with qualitative and quantitative data
- Identify opportunities for research and partner with UX Research team to define learning objectives and research plans

Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) is an entertainment company formed from the 2022 merger of Warner Bros and Discovery. It is a leader in the creation, production, distribution, licensing, and marketing of content, with Warner Bros alone boasting a huge library – more than 100,000 hours of programming – before the companies were joined. WBD’s portfolio includes Discovery Channel, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Discovery+, HBO Max, and franchises like “Batman” and “Harry Potter”.
Both of the company’s previous businesses have operated throughout the digitisation of the media space. David Zaslav, CEO of WBD, headed Discovery during its expansion into digital media, to make it a “content company” over a “cable company”. The recent focus for Warner Bros has been on next-gen distribution efforts, expanding the availability of its content across platforms and devices to reach the modern viewer. The new company has plans to migrate to one tech stack, which will require extensive retooling, as well as exploring cost-saving automation opportunities for its operations.
Since the merger, the new giant that is Warner Bros Discovery has had a shaky start, forcing the company to wind down operations and cut back on content, which included the very public scrapping of the “Batgirl” movie. However, it now seems the company may have been ahead of the curve, as a wider trend of cutbacks has been seen from peers in the space. This early move, combined with a hyper-focus on cash generation, seeks to establish WBD as an outperformer in an industry on the downturn.
