Who you are
- We are looking for an engineer who is HIGHLY driven to make an impact on company growth, knows the importance of code quality, is not afraid to try out new technologies, and above all has a strong desire to continuously grow with the team
- Have experience developing Web Applications using React, Redux, as well as frameworks like Next.js or Gatsby
- Be comfortable working from Figma wireframes and collaborating with designers
- Have some familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Be an SEO whisperer who knows how to build and maintain pages that Googlebot can’t resist
- Have some experience working with responsive and fluid email templates that look great across different devices and services
- Have familiarity with key networking concepts, like CDNs, caching, cookies and URL forwarding
- Be proficient in interfacing with API endpoints and integrating JSON data with front-end applications
- Enjoy working in a fast-moving startup environment where individual contributors are trusted and depended upon to set technical direction
- Believe that work-life balance is a characteristic of highly functioning teams

- 5+ years of experience in delivering customer-facing web experiences
- Strong knowledge of immutability concepts, CSS, and responsive design
- Strong knowledge of A/B testing concepts
- Strong debugging and performance optimization experience, with advanced proficiency in using browser developer tools
- Experience using digital analytics software for measuring web performance
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using Source Control (Git)
- Familiarity with at least one mature MV* framework
What the job involves
- Fubo is looking for an exceptional Front-End Web Engineer, Marketing with an eye for conversion-driven design to join the marketing team
- As a marketing web engineer, you will work closely with the amazing creative, product and design teams to craft intuitive and user-driven web experiences focused on acquisition and subscriber retention
- You will directly contribute in the ideation and execution of new acquisition strategies, conducting rapid A/B experimentation on out-of-the-box solutions
- Architecting, designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving marketing web applications for user acquisition and retention efforts
- Challenging the status quo by planning and developing new web experiences against our current standards using A/B test methodologies, and reporting on the results
- Working with our business development team to create seamless user experiences in concert with their affiliate partners, many of which are global brands
- Collaborating with product team engineers to create immersive, personalized web experiences for prospective users
- Analyzing the performance of web marketing initiatives using analytics software
- Working quickly and autonomously while managing your own backlog
Our take
Fubo is a live sports streaming service that operates in the United States, Canada, France and Spain. It differentiates itself from other sports braodcasters as sitting at the intersection between traditional cable and streaming, positioning itself as a must-have media provider for sports fans, with an internally-built tech stack allowing for instant replays and live interaction with sporting events.
While its core offering has always been in sports, Fubo built up a strong entertainment service, carrying content from numerous other networks and studios. Following its 2020 IPO its stocks rose sharply as a serious contender against older streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. By the end of 2022 it had an audience of 1.5 million North American subscribers and over $1 billion in annual global revenue.
Despite its strong growth, the company has entered a difficult period. Beginning to lose the market share it had taken from its competitors, it is also reducing its entertainment services and withdrawing from the sports betting market, with knock-on effects for its share prices. While still a popular service (research from TVision shows ads on Fubo Captured 35% More Attention Than Ads on CTV in General), it remains to be seen if sports fans (and investors) will stay with Fubo in the longer term, especially if it can't thread the needle of profitability in an environment of rising costs and intense competition.
