Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science or related field
- Minimum 5+ years relevant experience such as data science, data analyst, business intelligence, and people and project management
- Experience building a business-oriented, self-serve business intelligence function from the ground up, ideally in a growth stage B2B SaaS environment
- Hands-on advanced knowledge in business intelligence, data modeling, data management, enterprise data warehouse, big data, dashboards, as well as BI and Analytics tools, technologies and expertise in visualization technologies
- Advanced experience with SQL and large data-set analysis skills Exceptional stakeholder relationship management and communication skills, especially communicating effectively to different audiences
- Start up mentality; ability to work in a fast-paced global environment
- Strong sense of empathy and adaptability with a pragmatic approach to customer service
What the job involves
- This visible, analytical role is deeply integrated into the business and will get the chance to build upon a growing function and influence business decision-making through data
- Partner with key stakeholders to build and continuously improve business intelligence processes, platforms, dashboards, metrics, and insights to help the business with access to data that impact decision-making
- Identify and prioritize business intelligence and data analytics projects in collaboration with management and internal teams to align with the company’s goals and objectives
- Through data visualization and roadmap, identify root cause analysis and solutions to business challenges and communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of BI initiatives
- Own all tactical, operational, and technical responsibilities that include data preparation, data warehousing and flow, reporting integrity and accuracy, predictive analytics, data exploration, and information delivery
- Provide recommendations for process improvements, tools, and technologies based on data analysis and performance metrics

In 2020, the first 30 minutes of Alibaba’s Singles’ Day presales campaign on Taobao Live generated an impressive $7.5 billion in total transaction value. Firework is helping to bring these kinds of video-based eCommerce experiences to a Western audience with a smart commercial strategy.
Originally launched as a standalone social platform featuring swipe-able web stories, Firework made a strategic shift towards a more streamlined B2B model. It now provides services to partners by granting them access to its video technology infrastructure, enabling them to effortlessly launch diverse and interactive shippable videos on their respective websites. The outcome of this pivot has paid off, with Firework emerging as the leading global platform of its kind.
The real money in shoppable videos is ultimately live-streamed experiences, which are still not landing for American audiences. Despite this, Firework’s more complete offering, including the ability to directly collect consumer data and learn about a shopper’s behaviour, means that American brands are giving the startup business ahead of this anticipated cultural shift.
