Role
Who you are
- Technical Expertise: Several years of hands-on experience with modern software development frameworks such as PHP, Symfony, JavaScript, and Vue.js, along with a strong understanding of Linux environments
- E-commerce Knowledge: In-depth technical know-how of e-commerce platforms and experience supporting SaaS and PaaS distribution channels. Knowledge of the Shopware platform is a plus
- Consulting & Solution Experience: Proven experience in presales, technical consulting, solution consulting, or similar fields, including creating prototypes and enablement content for diverse audiences
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English is a must, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders. Comfortable with direct customer interaction and a strong team player
- Educational Background & Work Style: A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
- A self-driven and proactive work style with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
What the job involves
- As a Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between our technical products and the needs of our customers
- You will focus on delivering technical solutions, creating and implementing strategies, and working closely with customers, developers, and internal teams to ensure successful deployments and integrations
- Lead workshops, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), pitches, and onboarding sessions to supply and review technical requirements tailored to customer needs
- Collaborate with Sales & Consulting colleagues
- Collaborate with product and development teams to refine customer requirements further and ensure technical solutions align with our product capabilities
- Deliver tangible assets (presentations, showcases, sales-supporting & technology-enabling materials, etc.) to customers to guide them throughout their journey on the platform
- Resolve technical questions and conduct demonstrations to showcase new features and functionalities, including partner solutions
- Validate architecture & extend standard capabilities with new and existing add-ons & partner solutions helping customers achieve full value realization
- Validate agency-created technical solutions in customer projects, ensuring they meet business, security and technical best practices
- Create re-usable high-quality content such as demo pitches, video tutorials, code samples, and PowerPoint presentations to support customer enablement and internal team training
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our documentation and technical guides to enhance the customer experience
- Collaborate with multiple teams within the defined processes

The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth. 22 years without funding, the impact this could now have on Shopware is exponential.
