Who you are
- Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
- Exceptional in communicating user research findings, with an ability to influence strategy and decision-making
- Ready to seek out opportunities to expand the value and scope of user research impact through relationship building and technical or methodological innovation
Desirable
- Familiarity with the Life Sciences & healthcare systems, and regulations
- Proficiency with both strategic and tactical user research
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills
What the job involves
- As a Lead User Researcher, you will develop research programs that enable our teams to understand our users and design products that meaningfully enhance people’s lives and help get us closer to our revenue goals
- Led strategic research initiatives to uncover new business opportunities and drive product innovation, based on deep generative research
- Owned/drove User Research insights into the Product development process at Komodo
- Created personas and insights for our core business areas
- Identified value our users glean from Komodo experiences and partner with Product Analytics teams to measure, learn & improve value delivered through Products
- Partnered with our product team to define/refine and run the end-to-end product experimentation and proof of concept process
- Partnered with our Product Designers on research applicable to their roadmapped initiatives
- Revamped our insight delivery processes to reduce information silos and get information to the people who need it
- Creating an integrated research strategy for Komodo Health in partnership with other insights functions
- Defining, developing, and deploying user research programs including interviews, focus groups, surveys, in-app feedback, and usage analytics
- Presenting insights to appropriate stakeholders
- Identifying and prioritizing research questions that drive business progress
- Enable teams to gain a holistic understanding of user needs by marrying qualitative and quantitative data
- Collaborating with product and leadership teams to integrate research insights into high-level strategic and tactical decision-making, influencing product roadmaps and company priorities
- Measure and track the product impact on the evolution of user behavior and sentiment over time
- Establish research best practices, processes, and methodological toolkits
- Equip cross-functional partners with resources and guidance for independent research and data analysis
Our take
Komodo Health has built a healthcare map, an artificial intelligence and data analytics tool that tracks the healthcare encounters of well over 300 million patients. The service helps providers, pharmaceutical companies, and scientists identify opportunities for intervention and care improvements. It also helps them to analyze how products are performing in the market, identify at-risk patient groups, study the effectiveness of treatments, and detect patterns in drug and patient behavior.
Komodo Health’s comprehensive platform helps customers to better understand health and it is challenging the fragmentation of healthcare that contributes to inconsistent, unsatisfying results for both patients and providers. It has used its considerable amount of funding to focus on accelerating growth through further innovation and development of its enterprise technology platform, application suite and core data assets.
Komodo Health made cuts to its core team at the end 2022 as part of a restructuring following a large equity funding round. This is very likely to be part of a push for profitability as it gears up for an IPO. With its business strategy realigned, it is resuming hiring in all areas to continue to develop its product and grow its market share.
