- At AstroPay, the Operations Associate plays a key role in ensuring our products and services run smoothly and efficiently
- This position is responsible for supporting and improving core operational processes, collaborating across teams to solve problems, and driving initiatives that enhance the user experience
- From monitoring day-to-day activities to identifying opportunities for optimization and automation, the role demands a hands-on, analytical, and solutions-oriented mindset
- It’s a dynamic role that blends execution with continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
- Define, strengthen, and optimize operational processes that enhance the team’s ability to deliver effectively
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation by identifying opportunities to boost efficiency through new technologies, workflows, and best practices
- Stay informed about market and industry trends, proactively addressing future challenges and opportunities
- Monitor operational tools and key performance indicators to ensure smooth performance and early issue detection
- Communicate and collaborate across teams to align on priorities and ensure objectives are met
- Provide support as an escalation point for operational issues, offering insights into process implementation and resolution strategies
- Contribute to product development by actively participating in discussions and sharing actionable, constructive feedback
- Partner with product teams to understand user needs, address operational pain points, and design solutions that improve the overall experience
Our take
Founded in 2006, AstroPay is an online payment service that helps customers pay via VISA in any country that accepts it. Originally built as a digital solution for online purchases from foreign countries, AstroPay has since expanded to include a physical payment card as well as digital app services.
With over 200 payment methods and a commission-free service, AstroPay was a Latin American-founded company that has found its main market on that continent, competing with the likes of Monzo who have a hold on the digital payment industry in Europe. Despite AstroPay’s relative anonymity in England, the company has expanded its services to include cryptocurrency and in September 2022, partnered with Brazilian Huobi Global to enable this in Latin American nations.
As markets fluctuate in Latin America, cryptocurrency use has been on the rise, especially for younger generations. This has been promising for AstroPay’s recent expansions into the crypto market but has also drawn in large competitors such as Binance, adding more pressure for AstroPay to maintain its large client base.
