- The QA Software Engineer has solid software development skills to create, deploy and operate various automated test infrastructure components
- A thorough understanding of clean software design and architecture is essential and you are familiar with reviewing a production codebase
- As a QA Software Engineer you should be familiar with some test approaches like unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests or visual regression tests
- Passionate about Software Quality, the services you build and seeking to make a difference
- You value quality as well as clean code and learning new things. Next to that, you are passionate for Test Driven Development
- Experience in our product tech stack (e.g. Typescript or Kotlin) and QA toolings (e.g. Github Actions and Playwright). Good understanding of REST principles and Microservices
- Ideally, you have worked with MongoDB, Terraform and Docker before
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Preferably, you have worked in an agile environment before
- Good English communication skills

What the job involves
- We're on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer for our Quality Assurance Team. Join our Staffbase team and help us build an awesome internal communications platform
- You play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our internal quality assurance frameworks, facilitating its adoption through to our product teams
- Don't be scared of our tech stack, it's fine, if you know parts of it
- Our platform is built with React.js, Javascript, Typescript, Kotlin, Go, Java, MongoDB, Terraform and Docker, to name a few
- We use toolings like Github Actions, Cypress, Appium, Playwright, Sonarcloud or Grafana to build our QA infrastructure
- You'll be responsible for improving and developing our test frameworks focusing on customer facing frontends, including native apps, and our REST-ful web services
- Work in a dedicated QA infrastructure team and produce high-quality tools and guidelines for our product teams
- Give and receive valuable feedback in our code review process and continuously learn and share knowledge with your peers
- Being open to feedback and taking ownership of your work are essential
- Take ownership for the topics you care about, ranging from the services you produce over the documentation of our work to the environment we work in
- You work iteratively, frequently pushing code, ensuring a good CI/CD pipeline, and automating where possible
Our take
Since launching in 2014, Staffbase has grown into a major name in the internal communications niche. Its platform is used by the likes of Samsung, ALDI, DHL, and Domino’s to create branded, mobile-first communication and information sharing tools which can access a company’s intranet from anywhere.
Staffbase has managed to set itself apart to some extent from the range of other internal communication apps like Slack and Teams by focusing on building a product tailored towards dedicated internal communication teams, rather than taking a more general approach.
This is proving to be a good decision as, with the shift to remote and hybrid working, the last few years have seen Staffbase gather serious momentum. A 2021 merger with Canadian competitor Banantang has been followed up by a series of major funding rounds and a rise to unicorn status. As well as this, it’s been expanding its own product portfolio through a number of strategic acquisitions as it looks to stay ahead of the competition.
