Who you are
- Proven experience in leading complex, multi-squad digital deliverables
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in successfully managing projects across both front-end and back-end digital technologies and API ecosystems, ensuring scalable, secure, and performant digital consumer experiences
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and digital transformation
- Ability to represent delivery status and risks at executive level
- Customer-first mindset with a focus on improving digital journeys and outcomes
- Skilled in collaborating brilliantly and translating technical digital complexity into clear communication from C-suite through to test suite
- Significant experience of tools like ADO, Confluence, Jira, ProductBoard, Figma, etc
- Experience in risk management, incident triage, and continuous improvement
What the job involves
- You will lead the delivery of complex, multi-squad digital deliverables across web & app platforms. This role exists to create the conditions for empowered cross-functional teams to succeed
- You will act as the bridge between engineering, product, and business teams -translating complex technical and system requirements into clear, actionable plans for both technical and senior business audiences
- You will focus on delivery discipline, customer-centric outcomes, risk management, incident triage, and continuous improvement
- You will represent digital delivery at executive level, surfacing risks and opportunities, and ensuring that delivery excellence and agile best practice are embedded across all teams
- Lead delivery of large-scale, multi-squad digital deliverables across platforms
- Act as the bridge between engineering, product, and business teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding
- Translate complex technical and system requirements into clear, actionable plans for technical and senior audiences
- Represent digital delivery at executive level, surfacing risks and driving decision-making
- Drive customer-centric outcomes through delivery of high-quality digital journeys
- Proactively manage risks, remove blockers (both technical and business), lead incident triage, and embed continuous improvement practices
- Champion agile at scale and embed delivery best practice across squads
Our take
TalkTalk is a connectivity provider serving 4 million customers. Originally founded as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse, it was demerged as a standalone company in 2010. TalkTalk boasts a number of firsts in the industry; including launching free calls between its customers, providing a whole-home filtering service, and bringing WiFi 6 router technology to the UK.
In hopes of optimising the experience of its broadband customers, TalkTalk has partnered with DZS, which is a leader in access and optical edge infrastructure and cloud software solutions. TalkTalk will leverage the market-leading technologies of DZS, including DZS CloudCheck and Expresse Cloud EDGE, towards reducing call escalations, minimising equipment replacements and shortening call handling times.
In 2022, TalkTalk acquired rival SSE from Ovo Energy, in order to bolster its customer portfolio. Rumours of its own acquisition by Virgin Media O2 followed that same year, though the deal did not come to fruition. The company also agreed a partnership with Telecom Acquisitions, the manager of a number of broadband ISP brands and products, which includes TalkTalk securing the controlling stake in the company.
