Who you are

Excellent demonstrable TypeScript experience
Current commercial experience with React Native and Redux
A passion for crafting high quality easily maintainable code
Strong desire to learn and grow as a software engineer
Ability to take ownership of problems to be solved and solve them successfully
Experience in core React Native libraries such as React-Native-Gesture-Handler, React Native Reanimated, React Navigation
Experience working within a monorepo
Experience in deploying/managing apps on AppStore Developer and Google Play
Experience with Websockets and real-time messaging
Experience with CI CD tools such as Bitrise or Appcenter
Previous experience working on large complex applications

Desirable

Experience with native mobile development: iOS (ObjC, Swift) and/or Android (Java, Kotlin)
A passion for video games and esports is a plus
Experience in writing end-2-end tests
Advanced app development skills like: monitoring app performance, bundle size reduction, app launch time improvement, battery consumption reduction
Experience in working with Push Notifications on both iOS and Android

What the job involves

Our Mobile Engineers take full responsibility for the SDLC, and are currently working on some amazing new features. Our tech stack is based around React Native, Redux, and TypeScript
Our Engineers are allocated into collaborative teams that look after various services such as; Play Experience, Tournaments, Clans, Growth, Monetization and many more - making constant improvements to them
Our Mobile app spans the features of the FACEIT platform and in particular, Tournaments. We have an exciting roadmap of new features and are always open to new ideas

Our take

In recent years, competitive gaming has become a professional spectator sport that draws huge online crowds. FACEIT is a platform that allows developers to run their own online tournaments; providing ranking charts, skill-based matchmaking and anti-cheat software to ensure that these events are as fair as any traditional sporting competition.

The esports market is projected to be worth about £7.5 billion globally by 2030, and FACEIT has attracted large scale investments as it continues to innovate in this market. Not all of its moves have panned out, for example its foray into crypto gaming, but many others have been well-received by developers.

FACEIT continues to release and support new gaming products for the ever-expanding sector, which shows no signs of slowing down. Despite this success, it has undergone a phase of restructuring recently which included staff layoffs. But the company says this marks the end of a phase of change, and that these decisions will position it better for long-term and sustainable growth
