Who you are

Relevant degree or experience in a Computer Science or Engineering field
Python and shell scripting
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI / Github & Jenkins
Experience working in a containerised environment such as Docker / Kubernetes
Experience managing, supporting, and training other DevOps engineers
Experience working with secure and distributed systems, including cloud-based systems
Experience applying secure development and delivery practices
Excellent understanding of Git branching models and configuration management
Highly Desirable - Experience of DevOps integrating (soft) hardware IP and firmware IP
Desirable - experience integrating DevOps processes with other tools e.g. Slack and Jira

What the job involves

PQShield is looking for an Senior DevOps Engineer to expand our Engineering team
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be integrated closely with the wider Engineering teams to design, implement, and support automated, scalable solutions to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality code is built, tested, and delivered to internal teams and into customer production solutions
The role involves strong cross-team collaboration with software, firmware, and hardware IP teams, as well as the project delivery team and the infrastructure team
Designing, enhancing, and implementing modular, reusable, scalable, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems in line with industry best practices
Monitoring and ensuring smooth operation of test and production environments, building dynamic dashboards and alerts to communicate information to the wider team
Coaching the wider team on CI/CD best-practice and aligning this with existing HW and SW development processes and best-practice
Collaborating with the engineering team to identify opportunities for automation early in the development lifecycle
Managing physical test assets and infrastructure such as development boards and FPGAs
Supporting the engineering team with configuration management, minimising overall testing runtime while supporting a growing configuration space for our IP products
Problem solving through dashboards and logs to identify and resolve issues, providing preventative solutions
Working with engineering and infrastructure/operations teams to pre-emptively identify bottlenecks e.g. in compute resource / storage / tool licences
Support the deployment, continual upgrade, and configuration of a diverse range of engineering development tools; including internally developed and 3rd party/open source tooling
Support engineering/infrastructure team with resource-planning
