Who you are
- Minimum 1-2 years in a customer service and data entry-related position

What the job involves
- As a Billing Specialist, you will support the Accounts Receivable team at BioRender to help us grow and support the B2C and B2B customers
- We want to change the world, which only happens with great people and sound financial processes to drive effective cash collections that will enable our ambitious growth plans
- Provoding timely responses to daily billing inquiries through Zendesk, ensuring exceptional customer service and prompt resolution to issues
- Process a high volume of purchase orders from customers and produce invoices through Stripe in an accurate and timely manner
- Perform daily cash applications to Stripe and NetSuite invoices to apply customer payments and resolve discrepancies between payments and amount due
- Apply and maintain tax exemption certificates in Avalara, ensuring compliance with tax regulations with various jurisdictions
- Identify, develop and implement more efficient and effective billing procedures and processes within Stripe to B2C customers
- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure smooth coordination in billing processes and address any discrepancies or issues
- Produce month-end reports for receivables and collections for analysis
- Improve aged receivables by monitoring collections and completing regular follow ups
- Process customer refunds and calculate required credits tailored to meet the specific needs of internal teams
- Other ad hoc projects as assigned, including system implementations for billing, and involvement in user acceptance testing and code rollouts
Our take
One of the best ways for science students and experts to communicate ideas is through diagrams, but not everyone has the illustration skills to pull this off. Whilst computer graphics can be used instead of manually drawing scientific imagery, the lack of a dedicated resource for such images prevents diagrams from being consistent and professional.
Biorender hosts thousands of pre-made icons and templates to be used in the creation of diagrams across over 30 different life science fields. The resources follow consistent quality standards and can be dragged and dropped within the platform to create scientific diagrams, to be used by students, teachers, labs, and educational institutions.
Other visual libraries that include scientific icons and templates exist for the creation of diagrams, but Biorender has presented a novel idea with its exhaustive library, offering to produce missing icons on demand within 48 hours. The entire library is free to use alongside basic design features by individuals for educational purposes, with more advanced features and paid licenses being available for labs and institutions. Its success at visualising complex diagrams and information has helped Biorender achieve several rounds of substantial funding.
